1) The 2014 copyright is placed at the bottom of every page automatically. The date automatically increments by one on Jan. 1 each year.

2) The page you tried to post has been replaced by a new page that no longer refers to Antrim Dells. I would post a link to it, but just as you experienced, we wouldn't be able to use the link.

3) The plans have been changed for the area which was originally named Antrim Dells Mall (the large area west of Powell Road between 44A and 44). The south half will be Grand Traverse Plaza and the north half will be courtyard villas which Chopper said will be called Village of Collier at Alden Bungalows.

4) Because of #3, the name Antrim Dells will be used by TV, but for a completely different property. Antrim Dells is the name given to the courtyard villas that are being built east of Brownwood - east of Buena Vista and north of 44.
Champion6, I can always count on you to help me out! Thanks for the clarification. (Loved Flat Stanley's travels on FB).

Brownwood may be getting some company - Daily Commercial: News
Yes, this article from Aug. 8, 2013 says, "A public hearing is planned in The Villages on Wednesday for a request by the developer to add nearly 100 additional acres to Villages Community Development District 10 in Wildwood.
"About half of the land is at the southeast corner of the intersection of Buena Vista Boulevard and County Road 44A, extending south to State Road 44. The other half is on the southwest corner of the intersection of County Road 44A and Powell Road, just west of Brownwood Paddock Square."

What this means is that the two parcels were originally planned to be commercial, and would not be in a CDD. TV decided instead to develop them as residential. Therefore, they have been added to CDD 10. A public hearing was a required step in the process to add them to CDD 10.

Furthermore, "The area west of Brownwood is where The Villages has plans for Antrim Dells, a 500,000 square-foot commercial development and shopping mall. It is currently in the development stage, according to The Villages website."

The author of the article simply pulled information from the obsolete web page that brightspot01 originally mentioned in this thread.

I love how some posters are so misinformed (see the posts in December that claim to KNOW that no commercial space was permitted in that area). Just shows, again, how you really have to know who on this site has info and who is just guessing or complaining. Kind of funny actually.

Everybody is curious about a shopping mall. I can tell you this for sure----my wife and a lot of ladies in TV will not be satisfied until there is a Macy's in The Villages. Being politically correct, I will put some guys in there too.

Time will tell.

The Villages 2014 street map shows exactly where Grand Traverse Plaza and Village of Collier at Alden Bungalows is going to be built off of Powell, between 44 and 44A.

Don't have to be politically correct after two months I asked my husband well what do you think. His answer well I would miss the shopping I mean the Macys is all the way in Ocala and when you get there it is a second level Macys mostly their own label. I never shop (retired retail I associate the mall with 70hr weeks), hubby checks out the mall by us twice or more a week.

As I have said before I was a number cruncher for Macy's. I think for a location to work for them, A mall would have to be adjacent to I 75 and the overall demo of the area would have to go up quite a bit I would think. Especially if the one in Ocala isn't making it's numbers which a friend says it isn't.

Russ you are so right.
Haven't we learned over the years that all them guesses are really rumors? When the shovel hits the dirt and the sign goes up then we know for sure.
BTW did you hear someone was building a roller derby track next to the tire store in Colony?

The roller derby track is not a rumor. I heard from my neighbor's son's girlfriend's uncle in Georgia that his cousin works for the company that builds roller derby tracks all over the country. Being The Villages, it will be an outdoor track.

BTW – This is the same company that's planning to build the pro-wrestling arena in front of Sweetbay in Pinnelas Plaza.

I have heard it from credible sources that roller derby is a go. There will also be Shih Tzu racing rather than greyhounds.
