Another vote for CLASSIC ROCK, with plenty of news and information from The Villages. And I really welcome this!

Someday I'd dearly love to see a station with the guts to offer a real wide net of programming. I'm probably in the minority since I'm such a music guy, but if you could give me everything from Van Morrison to Patsy Cline to Keb 'Mo to the Smithereens to Mel Torme', I'd be one happy camper. Most programming these days seems to assume the listeners only have one gear. 'Taint so![/QUOTE]
I agree completely. I'd also like this station have on-air personalities who know what they're playing. No computer generated playlists.

ASCAP $272/yr (up to 100w) BMI $345/yr SESAC $140/yr So, much more affordable than one might think.

Classic hits. FM and the quality it brings would be a big improvement.

Classic rock, 60's - 70's mixed with classic easy listening. Sorry but I can't
stand country music and wouldn't listen if there was much country played. |

why does the format have to be for the whole station? how about different shows with different formats, something like the college stations do it. a large number of owners are obviously of the age where they listened to the new music/new wave/alternative music of the late 70's and 80's so why not a show with that music, even if only on the weekends or late night. I could name dozens of groups and hundreds of GOOD songs that do not fit into any of the 3 categories mentioned above. not all of us come from areas where country and southern music prevailed. New York and New England people like high energy music of all types. everyone knows the song HOT HOT HOT, but how about the original by the writer ARROW. just an example of what could be heard and this song is not even typical of what we could hear, just a sample of the possibilities. even Sinatra would play on these stations if they fit in with the theme of the rock. I heard it(and recorded it) so I remember. where would you put performers like Suzanne vega, greg trooper, alpha ville, joe Jackson, wall of voodoo, Elliot murphy, patti smith and even cab callaway. yes, cab was played on the elite rock shows back then if it fit the situation. notice I said elite. there was really only one NY dj that would do it-vin scelsa- but he did not last long. only from 1967 to 2015. if you pick one of the formats for the whole station, 95% of music goes unheard. joseph saepia 802 tarrson blvd. |

I think I've heard every Classic Rock song at least 5,000 times. Not interested in anything previous to the beginning of the Classic Rock era either. I'm over 60 and only listen to Adult Alternative.
