I sent this information to a number of neighbors in the area and was surprised that so many did not know about the new resident ID card program. It has been mentioned in the VHA flyer (today even) and in the Daily Sun Recreational News magazine on Thursday. I sent a note to the Villages and was told that they were going to put something in the Daily Sun and were trying to get a flyer put in the VCCDD bill (the green water/garbage/amenities bill).

If any of you know anyone without a computer, it would be a good idea to either alert them to the new resident ID program or to give them a printed copy of the information. I opted to give a printed copy. They were very happy.

Dumb ole me, I would have thunk this would be front page, at least local front page, of the Daily Sun. It affects the entire population of the community.

I got a note from the CDD4 rep about this yesterday. I looked in the Daily Sun today for an article on it. I was surprised when the only thing I saw was a little blurb in the VHA flyer. That is why I sent a note to the Villages to see what they were going to do.

Early or not in the process, everyone should know about it know instead of it being sprung on them in two weeks.

Ask any of your friends and neighbors if they are aware of the new resident ID program and you will be surprised how many do not know about the program.

Spring it now or in two weeks......what is the difference? Big to do over nothing.

A new ID? Oh man..... I need to lose 10 pounds before the picture...

Thanks for the early heads up.

PS. Ok, maybe 20, but lets be realistic

Thanks for the information. We are owns but currently renting, so will have to arrange for new ids during the early part of May, as that is when we will be down.

I told the lady I wanted a better picture. She said to bring her a better face.

Today in the Recreation News the Our Place column on page two, explains the new ID card replacement process, (not posted to the the recreation department web page as of this morning). It appears as the process was well thought out and should be easy for all residents to understand.
I do not feel that by printing this article today, that it “was sprung” on the residents. To imply that there was some dire conspiracy to dump this process on residents was just not necessary.
This detailed explanation should satify those who thunk a front page article was warranted.
