Re: NEWBIE Q & A
When your $5 TV map arrives, take notice that it also includes the golf cart paths and how they cross or go under various intersections. That alone makes it worth the price.

Re: NEWBIE Q & A
OK, I finally got my TV package in the mail, video, plus an overview map. My favorite area to live would be within walking distance to the Sumpter Landing area. I love to stroll around shops and be near water and sometimes don't feel like driving to get there. Any comments on that neighborhood? How far is Publix from there? I'll need to drive to that but the overview map doesn't indicate where Publix is.

Re: NEWBIE Q & A
Coney, The two villages which come to mind within walking distance of LSL are Virginia Trace and Caroline both of which have resales from time to time. Can't walk to Publix from either one but Sweet Bay in LSL might meet most of your grocery needs. If money is no object take a look at the Cottages in LSL--they're magazine perfect!

Re: NEWBIE Q & A
I have another question and this time it's about the POOLS ! Since I don't play golf, I would spend a lot of time hanging out at one of the pools. Can a resident of TV hang out at ANY SWIMMING POOL at any village......... or is the resident restricted to use the pool in his/her village? Another question....... do some of the pools have "shady places" to lounge?
This might sound like a petty thing, but I might choose my village based on being able to walk to a pool with the most friendly people and the most shade. I guess I want it ALL......... wanna walk to the pool, walk to the town square and especially walk to Sumpter Landing. I'm just working out my pre-visit PLAN ;D ;D ;D

Re: NEWBIE Q & A
You can use any pool in any village, only pools you can't use without paying extra are the country club pools. I believe most have shade available.

Coney
Also some of the pools are adult (30 and up) and some allow guest children......This could be an important item to you ......... thirty and up only fumar

Re: NEWBIE Q & A
Per CIB:
"I guess I want it ALL......... wanna walk to the pool, walk to the town square and especially walk to Sumpter Landing." Sumter Landing is a "Town Square" If you were to locate between the two existing "Town Squares", Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing you would have a long walk to either of them. Your best bet is to check them out and pick the one you like best, they both are nice but Spanish Springs is also next to the largest shopping area in TV, and locate near your fav.

Re: NEWBIE Q & A
This is my LAST dumb question........... well, maybe....... it's about SIDEWALKS! I did a search first and didn't find my answer. Yes, I do drive, but part of my exercise and recreation is to walk/stroll/window-shop instead of playing golf!
If I live in a Village within a short walking distance to fun stuff (shopping, restaurants, Town Square) are there SIDEWALKS to walk along, or will I have to dodge cars & golf carts?

Re: NEWBIE Q & A
There are sidewalks on the main streets, but not your typical residential street. You also have use of the cart paths where they are. There really isn't enough golf cart traffic to concern yourself with much dodging, just walk on the left against the flow so you don't get surprised (the electric carts are quiet and can really sneak up on you). When I'm there, my wife and I walk for a few miles, and once we are off the block we live on, we walk all on sidewalks or a golf cart path. It's a very easy place to walk! You'll love it.
