I love them. The snowbirds/snowflakes, bring a lot of money to support businesses in TV, and I found them to be good, fun loving people.

I had my next door neighbors, (renters), over for coffee this morning, Unfortuneatly, they have to leave, at the end of this week.

just like any other wonderful people we have met in the villages...i don't think there is any difference from a tenent, snowflake, snowbird, or frog.
We don't ask if they own or rent we just enjoy the company of who we meet

I don't ask. And, unless it's volunteered, it's not my business whether they rent or own here. Respect breeds respect.

I treat them like they're people.

The renters across the street from us six years ago became treasured friends who found a home they loved and bought it.

Be aloof and don't involve them in any of your day to day amazing activities.
They'll soon go away.

We find that playing loud music on our lanai all night long really discourages them from renting again.

Helen, have you had a problem?
We love renters, they are often very interesting free spirits.
I'm sure that in most neighborhoods, renters are warmly welcomed.
It's The Villages way.

I treat them with respect just as I was treated when I rented before purchasing our home.

In winter season I don't know who are renters or owners. I treat everybody the same, here in TV and elsewhere. Why not?
I do believe that renters spend more time here than owners who seldom visit. I have a neighbor (owner) who has been here a total of 6 days this year so far, and his wife 2 days.

Based on her previous posts, it appears that Helen is going to be renting out her CYV. I think she was just requesting our general experience with how renters are treated.

Helen, in general, I think that renters are welcomed with open arms. They are treated just like everyone else in the community. I really like talking to renters at the pool. They have a fresh appreciation for The Villages, and it makes me grateful we're able to own a home here.

The only grouching I've heard is when people are denied space at a favorite activity, or a tee time, because there are so many snowbirds and renters in town during High Season. But that is general grouching, not specifically directed at renters.
