Go someplace else then! I've always found if you arrive in an ambulance you are taken care right away and with care. Walk ins take their chances, maybe because of past BS. Still NO excuse to abuse people. Take your business elseware.

I was in ER several months ago at the Villages hospital for chest pain. Excellent service. Spent the night for observation and the rooms are 1st class. The nurses were awesome. The new cath lab was outstanding. After some stents I was treated with awesome care. UF has taken over and is doing a great job. I was hesitant at first after all the bad mouthing of the ER. The ER on 44 in Brownwood is also excellent.

part Kool-Aid.... Here is what appears to be a village that has a What'sapp..... you may be communicating between neighbors, but as a cybersecurity guy, that's a very very nice hole you guys opened up to personal information.

with that said... it pretty much is why there is kool-aid in your statement. One thing I can count on from the Villagers is a complete lack of security.

With 151,000 residents you’re going to find many odd ball things occurring like the husband and wife tied up and robbed the other day. Nothing in daily sun of course. I have worked at publix for 18 years and occasionally see customers munching on stuff before they checkout. Funniest thing I have seen is taking some jumbo eggs and putting them in the large eggs.

If everyone had your elitist entitled attitude, when 2000+ people a day walk through the Publix produce department and sampled the grapes, there would be no grapes left. If you can do it, means EVERYONE can also do it which serious elitism.

I've worked in hospitals for decades. Part of our ANNUAL training is dealing with patients and coworkers when they aren't having a good day. We're all trained to deal with psych patients, druggies, drunks, rude, etc. For the most part it's about being calm (words, gestures, distance), using words to deescalate, offering solutions, sometimes a coffee, anything to get the patient to communicate more calmly. Yes, when things go or look to go violent, security steps in, but rude people are just part of doing business. No, people shouldn't behave that way, but they or a family member are ill, probably been waiting a long time already, sometimes they haven't been given updates on what is happening or when something will happen. If you're in an ER, it's a high stress environment for everyone. Heathcare workers know this and should be able to handle it.

Heh. Sometimes sin is its own punishment.

We NEVER eat produce purchased from retailers until we wash it at home, and wash it thoroughly. My wife first soaks the produce (grapes and cherries are some of the worst offenders here) in a baking soda and water bath for a minimum of 20 minutes, then drains the water. The water, which is crystal-clear when the produce is put in, becomes varying shades of charcoal-grey when she pours it off. She repeats the process at least once (twice, for the more egregious offenders) before she rinses and spin-dries the fruit and stores it away. Same thing with leafy produce (romaine lettuce, fresh cilantro and parsley, spinach, etc.). The stuff picked and packaged overseas gets the most attention, but ALL of it discolors the water at least to some extent.

Who really knows just what is on that stuff that so discolors the water? But Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria are all spread from fresh (usually unwashed) produce. No, thank you. But if these pilferers insist on doing what they do, they may end up paying a much higher price than the one that they'd have paid at the checkout line.
