Bogie,
The way I understand it is you pay Barb's husband to be your agent. Only musicians that have Vesco as a agent are getting to play in the Villages. I'm sure someone on here can explain it better than me. |

Something smells in Denmark! And as to suggesting that 80,000+ residents get up in arms....good luck to that one...you can't get 8 residents excited about issues that directly affect their pocketbooks. This fact is so obvious it was stated by the IRS in their original filings concerning the bond issue.
If ther Vesco's did buy the entertainment package then you can bet it is going to cost residents an entrance fee to the town square one wy or another. The Developer is continues tomake his move and spins off anything he feels is not a real money maker such as the Wellness Center. and yes I understand he is a businessman seeking profits. Howevcer his decision often negatively affect residents. |

On that train of thought, parades could be held at the polo grounds and a fee charged. (just like in polo.) That is the developer's land.
Now i got things to do and I better turn off the computer! :-) |

After the screwed up traffic conditions and parking for last years Christmas Parade at the Polo Grounds it'll be a cold day in he** before I go back there again. That was deffinatly a safety concern.

Have we become accustomed to expecting too much? It is like feeding a bear. When you run out of food the bear gets real upset. You explain to the bear you can no longer support him and he must learn to fend for himself, he gets even more upset.
We have an advantage the bear does not have and it is called common sense with a dash of intelligence. We also understand the basics of supply and demand. If enough people want a parade someone will see the advantage of supplying one. (I seem to remember the magic hand theory that moved all of those tomatoes to the city). If your group wants a meeting site, check with some local restaurants. Just don't plan on taking your own food. There is always the possibility a rec center would suffice. We are growing up, maturing or whatever. The introductory initial offering period is winding down. Our buy one get one half price coupons are expiring. The time is coming when we must fly solo. Is the sky falling? Absolutely not! We are a community of intelligent adults. Our community has been years in the development and there is no reason to think it is not going to continue to improve. |

Many residents were going to express their concern at the AAC meeting this week. Did that happen? Were residents there for that and did Janet allow that topic to be discussed?

I was at the Cruise-In Saturday. I love that event every month. Seems there are different cars every time I go. I loved that Lincoln previously owned by the Ford family.
To my dismay, there was no cruise out. Talking with participants, I found that Barbara Vesco has even stopped that now. Does she have a parade phobia? Old man Harrold must be turning in his grave. He loved to ride in the parades at SS in an antique car and wave to people ("his neighbors"). What a shame all these festivities that made The Villages great, are coming to an end. Skip ![]() |
