It seems to happen twice a day, right at meal times, and they always seem to be headed North to Highway 42. I've about decided they're just making a BBQ run to Artman's.

On the other hand, I've noticed that the older I get, the more the noise of people having fun without me bothers me, which is odd, since my hearing's getting so bad I have to blast the TV a full volume just to make out what they're saying half the time. So maybe it's just me.

But the great thing about living long enough to see the 21st century, is that now there's a place you can always go to complain about stuff like that -- the interwebs!
So you’re the one with the Tv that can be heard out on the street. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The poor dog obviously has emotional issues as he paces and barks non stop, even when there's no one around. I hear him even with the windows closed and the TV on. I personally would muzzle him when outside, or try other devices to train it to not be a nuisance, but some people simply don't give a s..t about other people's quality of life.
Do what I did, offered to buy my neighbor a "bark collar" for their dog. They did not accept it, but the problem went away.

Exactly, how do you know they are Villagers! I’ve never saw any Villager or heard of any Villager driving an old beater with the exhaust pipe about ready to fall off.

blasting the tv , it doesn’t have to be that way , you can use close captioning it takes only a short time to get used to it and you are doing people in your household and neighbors a favor , I would not be able to watch tv without it

Some days I can't carry on a conversions with friends while my windows rattle from the exhaust noise.

Those are modified/broken exhaust systems on those vehicles and should be against the law.

Most retirement community's are 55 yrs.+, wouldn't you think at that age, they would have it out of their system?

We have air pollution, water pollution, and now noise pollution.

Your Thoughts Please
I've also noticed the increase in noise. Some people are modifying their cart exhaust to make them louder "mas macho".

Expect more of this in the future.

I have a TV on the lanai and I have asked each neighbor to let me know if it bothers them. No one did. But when my back neighbor closes their shutter I always lower the volume, which I check anyways with a decibel level app on my phone. If I can hear it, that’s good enough. Nobody else has to.

Yes, some people do this to motorcycles too. Invariable they are people who have low self-esteem and the noise is a desperate cry for attention.

I couldn't afford a loud car when I was younger, but now that I can I want to make up for lost time. Which car do you recommend that would be the loudest?

Actually, there is a school of thought that Loud Pipes Save Lives for motorcycle riders. (Nearly) silent bikes can be deadly as drivers DO NOT check their mirrors when changing lanes, etc. and more than once I revved my bike when I saw a driver getting 'twitchy' as some do right before changing lanes. I don't have a bike anymore, but when I did it wasn't blaring but it wasn't quiet either. Also, cars changing to use daytime running lights made it less safe for motorcycles which use to stand out more when they were the only ones that ran their headlights at all times.

Several have 'adaptive' exhaust that have actual valves that open up in the exhaust system at full throttle. A friends Jaguar has it and believe Shelby Mustangs came with it as well. A good set of Borlas or Magnaflows added to almost any vehicle will also take care of it.

so true
they should ban all of the gasoline golf carts= the people driving these things must be losing their minds creating all of the continual put put put noise.
I car about all of you neighbors that don't like noise, so I have the quieter, cleaner, peppier, electric model. It's the new thing - these lithium batteries and ac motors are pretty cool - long range and fast charge.
Of course, there are any of you fine folks disagree, I could hang some wind chimes from the gc roof....

New topic - Any of you that still may have a REAL sense of humor, do some YouTube surfing for Norm MacDonald content. Funny $hit. RIP Norm,
