We’ll don’t want to sound mean but you better move to the country where there’s no homes where there’s no mowers, power washers tractors working in fields for miles. Seriously what did you think a town or city with 120,000+ people would do to maintenance their homes.TV isn’t hillbilly heaven! Sorry but your in the wrong place for a quite place to live!

We have lived here for over 3 years now. The noise, during the day is sometimes crazy! (Loud) powerful lawnmowers in neighborhoods and throughout public areas, powerwashing of houses, remodels, new roofs - just to name a few. Yes! Homes & throughout The Villages need maintenance but never lived in such noise.
Not being negative. I like it here. Wondering if less noisy tools could be used? Or something?
We moved here from Hampton Roads area of Virginia. We were directly under the flight path of Langley AFB. About 2 miles away. Jets flew over us day and night during training missions. The Villages is super quiet compared to that. Can't hardly hear any noises while in the house with doors and windows closed.

That's funny. Our neighbor across the street is Billy and he has a pretty Ford pickup with loud pipes. I like the sound of it. After having muscle cars most of my life with loud pipes.

Default Noise cancellation head set

I am in a suburb of NYC when I am not in my Villages home.
During the warm weather the maintenance noise you mention is here too.
I feel there has been a general increase in noise everywhere I go inside & outside, FL, NY, in-between.
I bought a pair of Bose noise cancelation headphones & they help enormously. Don't remember the price but they were not expensive.

I really thought moving to TV with lots of older people (like myself) I would be hearing ambulance sirens all the time, but rarely hear. And you can almost see the fire dept from our house.

Do a Google Maps and you will see there are thousands of acres of undeveloped land in Florida and not all swamps.

Default Never quiet during waking hours

Not only is the landscaping and auto noise unceasing during the day, there is still noise pollution at night,

I live in Silver Lake. This is over a mile from the square, When I sit outside in the evenings, I deal with the noise from the banks at the square. If I could hear them clearly, it would be great. However, it is just the bass and yelling crowd noise to make an annoying background.

Oh, how I miss silence!

I believe I am correct in saying that the emergency vehicles do not use their sirens, they use their lights. I have been woken at night by ambulance lights, never the sirens. I have never yet heard a fire engine siren either, just lights.

I find the noise of everyday activity to be refreshing. As long as I can hear the noise, I know that I have not yet lost my hearing. I have never been woken up by noise. Since I sleep at night, I don't see any noise either.

Yes very true. I imagine, over time, much will change with electric and battery technology. Even nail guns used for roofing use gas canisters & some are cordless that do away with compressor noise. I’m just not sure I’ll still be living when that happens. Their is some benefit to those who have hearing issues. Yet I would never slight them just jokingly mentioned it.

It would be nice if they waited til 8am..these jarring noises at 7 are a little much. There are measurements for noise pollution..but how to enforce this..well that seems impossible.
