Default Not Visibile Window A/C Unit

Do I remember correctly, that the rules about portable window a/c units were relaxed? I think a window unit is permitted if it is concealed from view and only allowed in the rear of the house?

I don't know about window air conditioners but we have had great luck with a portable that vents through the window.

I would suggest calling ARC, as I would be surprised if the rules were relaxed. Also, this might not apply to all VCDDs. It will interesting to see what you find out.

Village Tinker is right. One simple call to Community Standards at 352-751-3912 would give you the right answer. As good as intentions are from TOTV members, it is always the best idea to get the information direct from the source.

IF knowing what you are talking about is a requirement, then they need to shut TOTV down. (This is my attempt at humor.). This site runs on heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend.

I heard window a/c units are okay as long as they are blue in color.

I'm curious, Shrandell. Do you need one to supplement your whole-house a/c, or something else?

So true. You pretty much have to go with what the majority says on here and discard the others.

Or is it the other way around? I really haven't been able to pick up a pattern, so I vote for "hit or miss."

Lots of good, and amusing responses. I would prefer a MUCH colder bedroom, without freezing us out of the remainder of the house. We have an At Ease cottage. Husband lives in sweats, and even a sweater, while I am in tank top and shorts... sigh.

Check your own deed for the restrictions; they can be different from village to village.

I installed a mini split/ductless unit in the bedroom for the same reason as shrandell.
