Vehicles on roads ssichas turnpike I-4, etc and travl at the speed limit in the left lane create a buildup of traffice cause some folks to take risky moves in order to bring away from the heavier traffic.

given that reality I personally would never stay in the left lane if my choice was to do the nominal speed limit.

Personal Best Regards:
On a highway such as the FTP I always stay in the right lane and go 70. On a multiple access road such as Morse Blvd I find it safer to stay in the left lane and travel the speed limit rather than take the chance of someone entering a roundabout too soon and causing an accident. Not that residents don't know the rules of a roundabout. It's called defensive driving.

Joe, just curious. Do you get mad when other golf carts pass you also?

Signs on the inter-states and many 4 lane highways instruct slower vehicles to "keep right".

To me it's all about safety, not road rage or to prove a point.
Please re-read my comment. I am going the speed limit and not "playing the slow poke" as you put it. Morse blvd is not a four lane highway, it is a multi access road.

I don't get mad, only dogs get mad. At least that's what Sister Timothy from Blessed Sacrament School used to say.

I think we all know why you do it.
The fact that you started a whole 'nother thread about it speaks volumes, also.
Thank you Miss Crocked. As my mother used to say, That and a nickle will get you on the ferry.

I can if I'm going straight or turning left. There are also laws against speeding.

You can incite road rage by not staying to the right as Florida law requires. I think that most people have answered this post see right through you. You enjoy making people mad.

The law is clear, keep right except to pass. I was actually cited once for failing to keep right. I aggravated a state trooper in Massachusetts and he had nothing else to charge me with so he wrote me up for "failing to keep right".

As you said, the law is the law.

Oh, she has, many times. We need more of that in today's schools. It turned me into a law abiding citizen.

I will say again: Does the "reasonable man concept" and "common cutesy" ring a bell? Slower traffic should always use the right lane unless turning left, passing or entering a rounder. Mango

This thread reminds me of my former father in law. He would get in the left hand lane and pull right up on people's bumpers at high speed. He would curse them out for not getting out of his way. Then when someone came up behind him who wanted to pass, he would refuse to move over. "Why should I?"

H was of the belief that everyone that drives slower than him is an _________ and everyone that drives faster than him is a moron.

Joe, you sound like the kind of person who is ALWAYS right even when your wrong. It is just plain common courtesy to move to the right lane if someone from behind needs to get around you, even if you are going the speed limit. Do you know that you could be holding someone up who may need medical attention or has some other emergency. Just play nice will you!

You are making assumptions. On the contrary, I enjoy making people laugh. I was always the class clown. And if you want to aggravate a Mass. State Trooper then what were you thinking? Did you not pull over to let him pass?

I took some flak for driving the speed limit in the left lane and was unable to respond because the moderator closed the thread so I'll respond here.

I fail to understand why I was criticized. The speed limit is the speed limit and the left lane may be used to pass someone in the right lane that is traveling below the speed limit. The left lane IS NOT for exceeding the speed limit whether for passing or ANY other reason. If I see some nut behind me trying to pass while I'm obeying the law by going the speed limit then too darn bad for them. Why should I move for them? If you want to break the law then that's your choice, I am not obligated to enable this type of illegal behavior and I may even be doing you a favor. The road rage that was described is YOUR road rage, not mine. I experience more of a road calm when I see a nut behind me. So my question is this, Do you speeders feel that you own the left lane and law biding drivers going the EXACT speed limit should stay out of you way?
Sorry, but your logic on this one is wrong and against the law.

Moderator will eventually close this thread as well.
