Default old dairy queen

I was shopping in spanish springs in the all occasion (christmas decor and more ) the saleslady told me that the owner purchased the old dairy queen bldg. and will have a soft opening in Oct. The store will still be in Sp.Spr. for another year until the lease is up and then that will close, so for the next year she will have the 2 locations. She said the new building is going to be beautiful.

love their store in spanish springs. always stop in several times a year to see what is new and exciting. unfortunately will probably not get to their new location, as it is out of the way.
is the same as kirkland's: when they relocated to the shopping center with kohl's it no longer was a place that i would stop in almost everytime we went to sp. springs. probably have only been there twice in two years now, as compared to at least once a month when they were in sp. spgs.

If TV's didn't charge such high rent maybe more businesses could stay here! But greed wins out !

There are many long standing businesses who rent from the developer.

Businesses do NOT have to rent here. They can go outside the campus and find cheaper rent. No one forces them to rent anywhere. The choice is theirs.

The developers own the land and has to pay the taxes on it. They built the building and that is an expense. They don't just start collecting rent and put it in their pocket. They had expenses to build it.

Big business is not the devil incarnate. Big business employs people who pay taxes and who buy things from other businesses and keep the economy going..

Free enterprise is the American way.

And....I think that it is not going to be a Dairy Queen. I heard it will be a Christmas Store, which is a niche business. More people will frequent a food place, unfortunately. I hope it survives.

The first thing I noticed going on at that location was a landscaping crew cleaning up and trimming all the shrubs. That was several weeks ago. Today I noticed that someone has taken out every last shrub. Every location where shrubs would normally be planted it's just bare soil. So it looks like they will put in all new landscaping. The owners have deep pockets and money is no object.

Whatever changes they make will be a vast improvement over what it looked like before. And whoever is building a new business and upcycling this building, good for you.

I saw a sign out front of the store. It says "Glitz". So it's a decorating store?
