Actually, what Carl wrote was not rationalizing. It is fact. That is NOT solely your property. Try charging someone with trespass and you will find out.

You are new here. Try sitting back and being patient. You will find that your yard will be fine. If you start out your life at The Villages as a militant, you will never be happy here.

I have been in The Villages for almost three years and do not consider myself a militant. In over seventy years I have never before seen anyone bring their animals to another's property to relieve themselves. I am aware that pet owners love their pets dearly and I love my children at least as much, but I would never think of letting them relieve themselves on someone else's property.

What makes a dog owner think that it is ok to allow their dog on anyone's property - for ANY reason? I always see the dog on a property but I never see the dog owner on the same property with the dog. Why does the owner not walk on someone else's property but lets their dog do so?

When we lived in Michigan (all of our lives before here) never did anyone's dogs go potty on anyone else's property. We had a fenced yard. Bark to go out and bark to come back in. Job done.
Now that people are retired, they must walk the dogs and in doing so, who's yard is the next toilet.
I actually like some animals better than some people. It's the pet owners that are irresponsible ! Just sayin'......

Nobody is "taking" their dog over to your property to relieve itself. They are WALKING their dog and the dog (who in most cases just relieved itself at home) is marking territory. If it accidentally poops (I say accidentally because nobody WANTS their pup to go on your property)....unfortunately, it just happens. Your lawn will be fine!!! You really need to realize how trivial this is to get so worked up over it. Maybe you need a home outside of the villages where you can have a fence. I know you seriously feel this is a big deal, but in reality, it's not. You are going to make yourself sick if you keep stressing over this.

They are "curbed". They are not allowed to traverse private lawns. We also always carry "potty bags ". I'm baffled as to why this is a difficult concept.

Dog owners live in their own little world and think any one's lawn is a bathroom for their children. Not all owners are this self centered though.

It's not a difficult concept. 99% of the dog owners "curb" their dogs. 99% carry dog bags. It's not an issue. There are just a few who would rather not see dogs in their neighborhood.

In my neighborhood, it has never been an issue. We have a lot of dog walkers. The dogs might have an accident and it is always promptly picked up.

When the temps are in the 90's, the dogs can NOT walk on the pavement, and weather you like it or not, they will inch on to the lawn directly next to the street to keep their pads from the hot pavement. Take my picture, have me arrested, make me a "breaking news".....I could care less. And if my dog has an accident, I will promptly pick it up.

No, we don't think its a "bathroom". They potty at their own home. When they are walked, accidents happen. This is the Villages, where dogs are allowed and used to be welcomed.

I will continue to walk my dog and if an accident happens, I will pick it up.

Actually, I think the complainers are few and far between. I have been walking my pup in TV for 6 years, have picked up many piles, and never, ever has anyone ever complained. Ever!

Also, my pup pees on my lawn every day...maybe 5 times a day. My lawn is one of the nicest in the neighborhood. No spots whatsoever. It's plush green.

I agree with Gerryann. Walking your dogs on the burning pavement is unfair.
That is why we take our dogs daily to the private dog park just north of CR 466.
