Don't bet that those bushes are not next to the street - lots of homes in the historic villages have landscaping close to the curb.

And THAT is the disappointment of it all! YOU CAN guarantee it by not permitting your dog to enter onto anyone's property than your own...BUT...you WON'T!

The homeowner should not have to go elsewhere! YOU should try and RESPECT another's property and take your dog for a walk somewhere else!

Yes - I walk in a mild rain and I walk in the cool of the morning and the cool of the evening. I do not walk in the heat of the day! Why do you walk your dog when the pavement is so hot that it could injure the pads of your dog's feet? Why not walk when it is cooler?

You have not read all the post or you would have seen where I stated I will walk/run my dog in the mornings or late afternoon. Also you would have seen where I state I am in agreement that dogs should not be running 8 to 10 feet into someone's yard. I am new to The Villages and have not had many occasions to go to the historic side except to go to the dog park!

I don't mind the little babes on the edge of my lawn, but don't come with a retractable leash and cute puppy is in my flower beds and bushes, because I'm going to spray the human with a hose, and of course, I'll pet the puppy dog ! Definitely not their fault that they have a bad owner !!! Just sayin'

The people that do that are wrong for sure. I use retractable so that I can keep it at 1-2 feet if need be. Otherwise it is kept at about 3-4 feet.

If I come by your house on a hot day, will you spray me anyway?

No I don't mind a couple of feet, but I have had a person let their dog all the way to the bushes in front of my den window. Really ??

Thanx for clarifying...I have read all of the posts - perhaps the reason for the confusion! I don't mean to offend - I simply do not understand dog owners and their sense that they can do no wrong. Learned better than that when I was a kid and never strayed from that lesson as an adult pet owner.

I'll bet that there is a "silent majority" that would like to turn on the sprinklers when you arrive for your morning peeee!.... I've received numerous negative responses for dog OWNERS that are not being neighborly when I sent out request for being "nice neighbors" when walking the dog. I'm a dog owner and I would guess that maybe 20% of our village owns dogs and 95% of the ones that do, are kind to their neighborhood.. Wonder if the reason for these irresponsible owners (keep in mind, I have a dog and LOVE all dogs) is a good case of LAZY!...

I would never turn the sprinklers on the little puppy dog, but maybe their owners. LOL
