Default One hour and 10 minutes

Another thing to add to the list of things I love about the Villages. The sun sets at 4:20 today at our northern home, but doesn’t set until 5:30 at our Villages home.

Default This might be why

It's because Florida is the "Sunshine State"

Yes, the actual time of sunrise and sunset does depend on where you are located in the time zone, but the difference between the amount of daylight between a specific northern location and a Florida location will be rather consistent based on the time of year.

The farther the location is from the equator, the greater the swing in daylight hours as the seasons change from summer to winter and vice versa. In other words, there isn't as much change in daylight hours from season to season here in Florida as there is in say Michigan or Maine. The northern location will have longer days than Florida in the summer but also have shorter days than Florida in the winter.

My wife and I were talking yesterday about the fact that the days will start getting longer in a little over two weeks. That seemed important back in Minnesota. Here in TV, not so much.
