Default Improve TV Roadways

Arrived back from 1400 mile trip on US roadways and got to The Villages behind someone reading the Sumter County 20 MPH sign and sticking to it on Stillwater.

Is it time to install passing lanes on some of the TV two lane roads?

Just kidding. I have to recalibrate after navigating Boston MA for the last month. Good to have the nice oversized parking spaces back.

Hey. I learned how to drive in Boston. So no need to worry about passing lanes, parking spaces or even stop signs. He he!

I learned to drive in China Town in Boston, now that was an experience!

Nothing like learning in New Jersey. I also lived in Boston for 2 years and I was well equipped to drive there.

I too am from Boston and learned to drive there. In fact I had a temporary job as a courier driver in downtown. Everyone that complains about streets and other drivers should have to navigate the financial district for a week.

But then, I lived in Manila, The Philippines for a year and did something that I was warned over and over not to do. I bought a car and drove. After that experience, I can tell you that Boston, Manhattan, New Jersey and every other city over here is a piece of cake. It would really take two or three pages to even attempt to describe driving in Manila.

When I open TOTV and see posts by members complaining about the roads, the roundabouts or drivers here, I just sit back and smile. They have no idea.

I am from the Washington DC area and drove into DC every day. They have traffic circles there also! The DC traffic is terrible and the drivers are really discourteous - but Boston was worse than that!

I suspect every city large or small have their share nasty self-centered drivers. And I also suspect that since people living in TV hail from across the globe that TV gets its share of nasty self centered drivers. Now add to that the effects of aging on cognitive and motor skills and you create the near perfect storm. so perhaps we ought to be thankful that TV doesn't have 8 lane highways, and that the gates with their metering affect make TV just a little bit safer
