Default Only in The Villages

Today, while coming back from Brownwood on our cart, we took the cart path that is over by the pond behind the stores. Upon approach, we noticed an SUV...mini van I believe, flipped over on its side at the entrance of the cart path. There is a post there to prevent cars from entering. It appeared that the driver did not see the post and thought it was the road and hit the post, flipping the van. It appeared that there were no injuries, I can't be sure. The license plate read "yathink". Now, had I thought quicker, a photo of this van on its side at the beginning of the cart path with a license plate that read "yathink" would have been priceless. I'm glad that it appeared nobody got hurt but I had to chuckle because of the plate.

I knew a guy with that exact plate but that was in South Carolina.

The accident must have just happened. Fire and ambulance were enroute as we heard the sirens as we drove home.

We went by a bit later than you. Fire dept. used Jaws of Life to cut open the roof to get passengers out. At least two people were sent off in ambulances but without lights and sirens and they didn't leave right away so hopefully the people were just shook up.

Just a little earlier we had been on Hillsboro Trail and saw fire and rescue working on a golf cart that was upside down on the side of the road.

A van on it's side is not funny Magee.

They story is in this morning's Sun Newspaper. It said the SUV driver hit a pylon at the entrance to a cart path and flipped on it's side. Most of the time those posts are aluminum and you can see that's they been run over or damaged. I guess in Brownwood they switched to a sturdier post. They didn't mention the license plate.

I saw a blue suv backing out of a golf cart path a few days ago. They hadn't hit the pylon....the driver must have carefully maneuvered around it.

I believe I said I was glad that it appeared that nobody was hurt. I told this story to many people yesterday and they too got a chuckle out of the license plate. I didn't say it was funny that the van was on its side. I guess you had to be there or at least try to find the lighter side of something that could have been tragic. If it appeared there were injuries, we would have stopped to offer any assistance that we could. I would not have even noticed the plate had someone needed help. However, since you weren't there, you didn't see that nobody was alarmed. Everyone was just standing around talking. That's when I glanced back and noticed the plate.

The Sun said two people were injured and it took Fire crews 30 minutes to extricate them. I will usually stop to offer assistance, even if people are already on the scene.
