Default White or brown cabinets?

For those of you that have white cabinets are you glad you got them or are you sick of white? And for those of you who have brown cabinets, do you wish you'd gotten white? I simply can't decide on which to get. The white looks so fresh and clean and the brown look so warm and comfortable. And, has anyone put different colored cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms? It's a choice I'll have to live with so I want to make the right one. Thanks...

our florida house has white kitchen cabinets and we LOVE them. we have oak and dark maple in our other homes up north so we wanted the freshness and brightness of white for the florida house. i think we may go to white in the nj kitchen when we update there with the black countertops and stainless appliances.

recommendation re cabinets - get a smooth finish without routed design so that they are easier to keep clean and you do not have to deal with the grime than can build up in the grooves of the design.

Default white cabinets

have been in every house I have owned, either as originals or as built by us except for the cyv that we purchased pre-owned. I find white to be expansive and uplifting. I also find them easy to clean and always fresh looking. We are contemporary in our taste so that might be a factor. In our CYV the kitchen is part of the whole house so I don't need to have it as expansive though I would prefer to have it white, but $$ is prioritized elsewhere at the moment. To me the kitchen looks more dated and traditional when it is wood. JMHO

Thanks ladies. I value your opinions. I love white too. The only reason I was considering brown is because in the town home we rent currently, we have those cheapy white put together storage cabinets in the bathrooms for more storage and we also have one in our kitchen for extra storage. They are so cheap. But in our TV home I know the white cabinets are very nice looking and not cheap looking. Would love black granite to compliment the white! Lots to ponder...

Mine are light oak (almost tan) and I love them. There are many other shades that white or brown. Check out the other color options.

The house we bought has white cabinets. The kitchen sold me. I love it. We looked and looked and even this model with the 'brown' cabinets didn't have the zing that the white does, IMHO. Hopefully the picture I thnk I uploaded is really there. Of course, it's all a personal choice.
I do wonder what I should do for wood tones in the rest of my house furniture now.

Lovsthosebigdogs...thanks a bunch for the photo. Love the kitchen. Lots of cabinets. What model is that, the Lily? The white is stunning and you can put any furniture colors you want with it. Your making my decision more clear.

I'm with Gracie on this one. I have the dark ones and love them. I had white in my prior home and after living with them for 8 years, I had no desire to even look at a house that had white cabinets.

My neighbor has the white ones and after 5 years, she's getting really tired of hers.

But remember in the end ... it's what YOU like.

Happinow, the model of the kitchen is the same as the Fairmont, but it is actually a Melrose with what they call a Kitchen C option. I am passionate about cooking (more so than eating out, strangely enough) and wanted a lot of cabinets and an island you can't see in the photo, along with a long run of counter space. This kitchen worked for me better than any other we saw and sold the house as far as I was concerned.
Gracie, you cabinets look rich and beautiful. I can see why you love them. I have cherry cabinets in my home in PA right now and like them here up north also.
