Default Outdoor security camera?

For those that have outdoor security cameras, any recommendations on what you have found that you like? We have a Ring Doorbell camera and it works great. Have heard their outdoor cameras were not great (other than the doorbell one) but was curious any direct experience, or suggestions on others to look at.

Add a couple things...................

Good & Easy app.

They also have WiFi based light bulbs that can be controlled remotely.

We have Blink outdoor and inside, from Amazon. Picture is clear enough to watch the Bobcat walk by, and Bear and two clubs pose to watch the lights come on. Our account is free, we store video in the cloud. Black Friday has great deals

This YouTuber, a channel called Project Farm, is like the Consumer Reports of things. He buys everything cash at a local store, does not take advertising, and puts together his own testing methodologies to test claims on all kinds of products. It's worth looking at his former videos on an array of things, mostly tools and household goods. Click on his link and his "Videos" to see all the things he's tested.

He is not overly chatty, he gets right into the video, tells you the basics and the claims of the items being tested, then starts testing them. Results charts toward the end.

10 days ago he posted this video on video cameras. Here's the link:

If you decide to mount an outside security camera, be careful how you set up the region within the FOV in which it triggers. Otherwise you will get a notification sent to your phone every time a dog walker or golf cart goes past your house. That gets old in a hurry.

Eufy is pretty easy to set up with no fees . A lot of solar charged WiFi cameras. They have half of deals every now and then.

And the link to the ProjectFarm Youtube video picked Eufy as highest scoring in being able to view license plates at different distances both day and night.

Wyze. Here in TV (7 cams all 360 degree moveable) and up north I have about 18, both moveable and stationary on the ranch. All are set for motion activation and follow. No monthly fee. Perfect night vision too. $40 for a fantastic camera. I moved away from a wired high-security Lorex system two years ago on ranch due to cost of cam repair. Glad I did.

Best to find a neighbor that has one of the systems you are looking at and then look at their setup. Once you see a Wyze camera and ease of app, you would be sold. But the same could be for Blink or some of the others systems. Once someone shows you what their system can do, you usually are sold.

I had ADT install them. Wouldn't live anyplace without them.
