Default Outside The Village

Can some explain the 3 County buffer preventing me from golfing on an Executive Course with my sister? I was told it was because I am not a serious candidate to buy in The Villages. I have suggestions how to navigate around the situation but typically follow the rules.

The Executive courses are paid for by homeowner amenity fees. If you want to navigate around the situation either move further away from the Villages and be a guest of someone who lives there (up to 30 days per year), or buy a home in the Villages. Or rent a home in the Villages, and then you can get your own ID and not need your sister to get you in.

The rules exist so that people who live nearby can't con someone into being a "guest". Which some "neighbors" of the Villages try to do, with some very limited amount of success, until they're caught. The Executive courses are exclusive to Villagers. If you want to golf in the Villages, and don't want to abide by the rules of the Executive courses, you are welcome to any of the Country Club courses, which are open to the public for a fee.

Here's the page with this season's rates:

A non-resident would be the most expensive rate.

OP, I think what you were told was incorrect. But, I like the 3 county buffer rule.
