Default outside water faucets

We have a home in Duval where there is both potable and recycled water. To what source of water are the hose bibs connected?
Thanks!

I'm 80% sure it is potable water from your hose. It doesn't smell like the recycled water.

It should be water from the house (potable) but I have seen one instance where it is reclaimed water (think the plumber goofed). To be sure, you could turn off the water for the house and test the faucets. If the water runs after the pipes are emptied, it's reclaimed. If it stops, it's potable.

my builder assured us that not one pipe that handles the recycled water touches the house at all.

I could be wrong but I think it is safer if you use a potable hose.

Default Check it out

P/P do as Red said. Check it by shutting your hole house water off. If the outside faucets still have water coming out it is recycled and not potable water. BTW some water will drain after you shut the main off so give it a few seconds to drain down before hitting the panic button.

It is unlikely but contractors and plumbers make errors so check it out to be sure.
