I haven't figured out how to post pictures, but have looked thru my book on Florida plants and wonder if it is an acoelorraphe wrightii Paurotis. It is described as having a soda straw cluster at the ground line topped with compact crowns 5 ft in dia of fan leaves for each stem. Broom like cluster.
Well, while I was looking it up, Cassie, fraurauch, and KathieI all came up with the name Paurotis too. Last edited by starflyte1; 12-07-2008 at 10:24 AM. Reason: added line |

This might be a better picture....these would be beautiful in someone's yard....especially if used for privacy by the lanai or bird cage...

Call Havana....talk to Damon (co-owner/manager)...he is a really nice guy...he may not know who they used for landscaping but I bet could get you pointed in the right direction...
OR Seems like they are rare so my best guess is that you will need to order one. Call your landscaper....or A landscaper and have them do it.... I think this would be one of those times where you have to fill out the form in the front of the phone book...get the approval for changes on the property....it only takes a few days for them to approve or disapprove.

This is a picture from before Feb 2007. Are the plants to the far left and right of the entry the same plants, only taller? It was tough to tell from the other pictures. Click on the picture it takes you to webshots where you can view full size and zoom in on the plants.
Maybe they replaced mature plants with younger ones? Last edited by SteveFromNY; 12-17-2008 at 10:34 PM. |
