After making about four u-turns, I got to the Publix parking lot and had to park a quarter of a mile away. You wouldn't believe where people were parking golf carts.

I find it hard to believe that people still attend these events. When we first moved here we went to a few of them. After waiting in line for eons to get food then not being able to find a place to sit to eat because of all these ignorant people who park themselves in the chairs meant for the restaurant customers, we quit going.

I've seen enough parades in my lifetime. I don't care to see any more.

These have to be people who are new to The Villages that attend these things. I'd bet most residents that have been here for a few years have given up.

Please stop the insanity! End these parades and celebrations!
I love the smell of a parade in the afternoon. And the morning and evening too.

If we were all alike and all liked and disliked the same thing, they would only sell vanilla ice cream.

My parade viewing is complete but my heart still speeds up when I see old glory.

We have been in the Villages since June 2005 so I have been to a lot of parades many seeming to be about the same people going around in golf carts. But, these new parades sound a little different and more exciting.

All ice cream is vanilla, someone just chose to add things. Vanilla rules even at parades that are green

Doc - I hope this is in jest. The news provided sufficient warning of this event that anyone should have picked up on it. I'm not a newbie in TV, and there were thousands who observed the parade. I doubt they were all newbies.

I am in the SAR, and we marched with the DAR. I was honored to carry The Colors. And many observers were pleased to see Old Glory - saluting and standing as we marched by.
