Default Patio Villas

In have a couple of questions about the patio villa homes in TV.

I have never seen photos of people using the back space behind their homes. Most photos show people using the side. Are people allowed to use the space behind their home?

Where do people keep their dogs?

I am wondering about the noise from neighbors (barking dogs, music, etc.). The homes are close to each other, but most of the windows from one home open to a blank wall of the neighbor’s house. The lanais do not kiss. Does this keep it relatively quiet?

Thank you for any comments you can give me.

We used to have a patio villa. We had neighbors across the street that would leave every day, had the window open and the dog barked about 24/7. That barking would get the other dogs on the street going so there seemed to be a continuous chorus. That was one of the reasons we moved. We did find our lanai on the front to be quiet, again unless the people across the street had company.

By the way, we have a home now that would be considered kissing lanai. The people behind have enclosed their lanai with glass, and we have a tremendous amount of foliage between the 2 homes. That has made it virtually soundproof and visually private. Back to patio villas, I had a friend who kept her dog on the lanai when she was gone - barked incessantly. Had I been a neighbor, it would have been quite annoying.

I'd like to emphasize that most patio villas don't seem to be noisy - we just happened to get in a not so good situation.

That was one of the reasons we opted for a CYV over a Patio Villa. Total privacy and a great place for your doggie to explore in safety. Obviously, if your dog is a barker, then you have to be aware that your neighbors may not appreciate the noise. Also, we liked that there is little lawn maintenance. First thing we did was remove all the grass and landscaped the front and back yards.

That is one of many great things about The Villages. There is a home for every budget, reference, and lifestyle that suits you.

There is only about 8 feet behind you can't store anything there

I have a patio villa in Bokeelia.I love it here my neighbors are great.Patio out front is no issue because it is on the other side of garage, you can plant out front if you want more privacy from the street. It doesn't seem people use their back yards, but If you want to I don't see that would be an issue. You need to walk your dog and pick up after him just like everyone else no matter what house you have. Everyones choice is their own style depends on what you want. There are plenty of dogs in my neighborhood and there doesn't seem to be any problems. It is just perfect for me. Good luck

My husband was concerned about not having access to the back of the house as well! I can't believe that we found a patio villa with a back lanai off of the guest room! It also has a patio area off of that! Our back yard is beautiful, and you would be surprised at the people we see and talk to who live behind us! So I am guessing, that this could be replicated in other patio villas! I am very pleased with ours! Our dog doesn't have an issue with staying in the yard while we are out there, or we walk her with a leash!
