Default Paying Bills Is Getting Easier in TV

Anyone see the article Paying Bills is Getting Easier in TV, p. C5 in today's Daily Sun? The article says that beginning Feb, the VCDD will begin accepting VISA cc to pay your amenity, water & trash fees. Most people may have stopped reading at that point. Later in the article it says, "...district policy also now allows for a single bank draw, for a $3 fee, which will help residents avoid potential late fees. Current policy allows automatic monthly bank draws to pay bills."

The VCDD finance office confirmed that the $3 fee does not apply to anyone with automatic monthly bank draws in effect but only to people who elect to make a one-time bank debit. I know the article says as much but several of my neighbors were confused by the article and were getting unnecessarily upset about a new fee announcement.

Did the article by chance say anything about sending ebills thru email or not sending a paper bill if you have auto draft? Sending a paper bill is such a waste.

Excellent suggestion. You may wish to suggest this approach in an email to the district. Their general email address is: Carrie.Duckett@districtgov.org

Carrie is the manager of the Customer Service Center and re-routes emails to the appropriate dept. Phone: 352-753-4508. Carrie commented that they make every effort to respond to emails within 48 hours.

I asked about a e-bill and they said that they were thinking about it. This was 2 years ago. I will ask for an update.
