If, you accept a check, you are out the item, not likely to be recovered and the final insult your bank will charge YOU around $20 on the bounced check. An honorable person, get a CASH deposit. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT, and hold the item till they come back with CASH.

Bigger ticket items at garage sales? You might do better listing the items on talk of the villages, or ebay.
