Not all New Yorkers behave badly!

There is plenty of entitled behavior by people from many states.

I am really surprised by your comment.

Default left turn from golf cart lane?

Are you in the street, making a left turn?
or are you still in the golf cart lane?

You said he came from the golf cart lane out on to the street

If you are in the street making your left hand turn, where you should be, then he would have had to cross the middle of the street into the opposite lane in order to pass you.
I got the same thing from the OP. Some people believe they need to turn left from the golf cart lane. This is very dangerous, left turns are performed after moving into the traffic lane closest to the oncoming traffic. I hope the OP reads this. If I misinterpeted I appoligize.

The bigger issue for me is drivers in cars who appear to have a superior attitude when coming in contact with golf carts or bicycles . They seem tobelieve the right of way is always theirs

Well, there is two ways of looking at this - you want to be right or DEAD right?

My wife came out of a tunnel last week, I believe onto Turtle Mound Golf Course, and met a lady, IN HER CAR, coming toward here on the cart path. My wife swerved to the right and avoided the collision. I hate to think of what might have been.

I don't. She was merely identifying the cart that did the same thing to her. I don't remember Gracie ever making generalizations about people like what you are imagining.

An jerk behind the wheel is just that. It really doesn't matter if it is the wheel of a golf cart, automobile, truck, etc.

Yesterday morning while waiting to turn onto St. Charles, I was stopped at Tamarind Grove Blvd. St. Charles is a very busy street with cart lanes on each side of the roadway. In most places if a car is turning in front of you on the highway and there is room on the shoulder you slide over to the right and go around the turning car.

Yesterday this pickup truck tried the same thing, except the shoulder on St. Charles is a cart lane. A golf cart going about 20mph was suddenly faced with a pickup truck moving at a slower speed 10' directly in front of them. The golf cart driver slammed on the brakes and skidded into the curb, probably messing up their tires and wheels but otherwise the cart wasn't damaged. The truck and the it's driver continued on it's way without probably even knowing what it did.

It seems that when busy streets have cart lanes on the side, such as Morse north of CR466, it's an easy invitation for cars and carts to get together. Too often the driver in his haste will move over into the cart lane to go around a turning vehicle and totally forget about the cart approaching from the rear and to their right.

She didn't say the driver was a New Yorker. She said there were Yankees decals on the cart.

Maybe he is decal challenged. That sometimes happens when people move South too quickly.
