I am embarrassed to tell you how many times we have moved. Most were job related moves over many years. Some were just real estate investment moves. Anyway, there is no perfect house and no perfect place. End of story. In TV and in your retirement years, pick out a Village that is near the activities/hobbies you enjoy and plan to do the most. That too will likely change after you get here. Thats the best advise I can give you. Believe me the rest will take care of itself!

I know the correct answer. My Village.
If one studies the geography of The Villages a few things stand out a little. Not to say that all Villages are not great, but some seem to be better positioned for us and our preferences. My priorities were as follows. 1. I personally do not want to be any where near or even be able to see the power lines that traverse through the community. 2. Although I like the sound of a train whistle, I like it from a distance. 3. I want to stay away from any of the sewage treatment plants. 4. I believe there are advantages to being someplace closer to the middle then the edges. It is lovely to look out to a horse farm, but next year it might be a shopping mall. 5. I prefer not to be on or real close to a busy street. 6. I believe being central to all 3 town squares will be an advantage in the future. So when you consider all the above, I ended up in Sunset Pointe. I also believe Virginia Trace, Sabal Chase, Winifred, Bridgeport at LSL, Lynnhaven, parts of Liberty Park, Poinciana, and probably parts of a few others meet those objectives.

![]() First place in TV was a villa and we decided to upgrade. Second place was 3 bedroom on interior lot and we decided to upgrade. Third place is on Bonifay Championship Course. This one goes to the kids and we are out the door in the pine box! End of story. |

Most important to me and many others i know is the close proximity to the golf cart paths. Go everywhere by golf cart and the less we share the road with cars and trucks the better

I agree that there is always a reason for where you settle down. We have visited for many years, and (still don't know our way around) but when looking for property, we wanted to be between ss and lsl, We found a place in Mira Mesa, We can get to the Landing, and the Springs without a problem, we can also take the bridge to the Paridise center and not to mention the shopping, fast food and medical vacilities. May not be the perfect place for everyone, but after all the trips to the villages, when we walked into our new home, it just felt like home. We are excited! Got word today that closing is on Aug. 31. We can't wait to join the family of villagers.

When we fell in love the first time it was with a Camellia because it was roomy and pretty and backed to Odell center with a good backyard view of golf course. Right price, did not yet know it was going to have delightful neighbors. NO one had the option to build anything in June 2008, homes were completed in bunches and put up for sale and they all had different things in them, some came with washer dryer, some came with blinds, some came with granite, NO choices. We loved this house. We spent four or five months a year in it and Sweetie continued to work by phone and internet and flights back to Ohio. Each time we would leave The Villages was harder than the last but we returned to our spacious home in Cincinnati and Helene had a lot more space in her rooms there. The Camellia has a decent master bedroom but the other two bedrooms are smallish. Since Helene lives with us because of the blessing of her being born with Williams Syndrome, her comfort was very important. When we really started thinking about making TV our full time home we began to look for a larger home for the three of us. And that is the reason that when we sold our Camellia, we bought our Seabrook. Again we landed in a village with wonderful neighbors and still frequently see our neighbors in Hadley. I play golf with the girls on our old street once a week and they still have us back for the monthy Havana Blast social and we have frequent dine outs with them individually too. Moving from one home to the other is MUCH cheaper than up north. You can change your mind if you want something different once you are here.
