Default Performing in The Villages

Hello! My wife and I are professional musicians from Midwest Ohio - Toledo. We perform in the tri-state region - Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. We will be staying in the Villages for 3 months - Jan. Feb. & March. We hauled our trailer down full of our equipment, and we are excited for any opportunity to play out. We have a large catalog of music to choose from, (rock, classic rock, blues, and country) we can cater to just about any venue - bars/restaurants, breweries, wineries, and private parties. If there any any suggestions or contacts you might be able to pass along, we would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time! Cheers - John

Some of the restaurants book musicians. Some are good, some not. The faces seem to change pretty regularly. Try Cody's Roadhouse in Lake Sumter Landing; you never know. Even if they don't they might know of other establishments that do.

Otherwise, The Villages books musicians for the four town squares which perform 5 pm to 9 pm every day of the year (though sometimes performances are cancelled due to weather). I have absolutely no idea how they book bands, if they're looking for new ones, alternates, or whatever, but it couldn't hurt to contact The Villages Management and ask.

If you are musicians that perform up north you know how far out venues book talent. You probably are not here long enough to get a lot of interest from restaurants etc. However, people might be interested in booking you for private parties since it is so hard to find talent at the last minute. Perhaps you should post some videos of your engagements so people could assess whether they want to hire you or not. Is your group on Youtube or Facebook ?

My neighbors have tried out for the villages and restaurant groups, never called up. Playing Legion. You could do driveway parties in your neighborhood.

Heard one of those in either Belvedere or Lynnhaven a few weeks ago.

Thanks for the response. Yes we have videos on Youtube and FB. Where would we post those at?

Thanks for the info! How would a driveway party be planned? Could we just set up and start playing? Would we announce to the neighbors we were having a party? Would we need permission from TV to do a driveway party?

All good questions. If the neighborhood you are interested in performing in has a website I would try there with questions.
