Their "journalism style" is amazing too, printing the brand, model, price of everything, and often printing a lot of really strange details about people... but like you commented, it works for them because I forget about it for a month or two, and then go take a look !
At least you're honest about it. People will always be obsessed with train wrecks and school bus fires. You get the metaphors!

Heh. One might assume that at times.

Actually though TV has a lot of FIPs who, back in the world, actually accomplished a lot. What they say or write can have a lot of merit. Can't say the same for a lot of the Hollywood types. The vapidity of a lot of those people is beyond belief!

Right, our country's economy (thankfully) is based on capitalism, supply and demand, profit. Personally, I like to go to the old fashioned cinema about once a month, but let's face it, streaming of first run movies, pay per view at home, comfort of watching a film in your P.J.'s (LOL) and the proximity of the kitchen for popcorn with REAL butter for much less than $6-$10 is a powerful force. We'll soon have a generation of young people who have never attended a "movie theater", or even know what one is.... like a "type writer", we'll have to show them a picture and explain...LOL !

Agree ! From this "old folks" point of view, I really miss the epics, the historic dramas, and the "fun" classics; Out of Africa, Gandhi, Lawrence of Arabia, Dr. Zhivago, even back to very little kid and having my parents take me to see The Greatest Show on Earth and Ben Hur (20+ min. of chariot racing), and Star Wars, Pearl Harbor, etc. Some of them, even on a 90" TV with surround sound, just had something special in a theater... forgot "Jaws", LOL ! Not making the epics any more, no market for entertaining films where you actually learn a bit of history, geography, along the way.

I used to take them to the Brownwood Theater. It was so much fun to get ice cream afterward and nice to see their faces away from their phones and tablets you foolish old people that think no one cared about the Brownwood theater.
"YOU foolish old people", the name calling and painting of all with ONE brush comments on this site never fail to amaze me. Wonder if people who write similar things ever stop to allow their thinking to catch up with their fingers on a keyboard ? ALL human beings get old, every single day all get OLDER. and what does "foolish" have to do with anything. People look at a theater's offerings, sometimes, nothing appeals to them ! ? If someone is "selling" a supply of films with subjects that are NOT in demand, that business will have to change and show films that the public wants, or, if there are none being made, then the business will close.

No matter how large your home theater, Jaws in NOT the same as in a traditional theater... at home you KNOW, for certain, the great white is NOT behind you, at the theater you "think" it's not coming up behind you but.... you're not 100% sure...LOL, LOL, LOL !

Let's get a petition to open the theater and allow cigar smoking.

There are cigars of all sizes. I recall a woman visitor to our home who smoked very thin and rather pleasant smelling ones. And then a dog walker who rides his golf cart to bring the pooch along often leaves cigar butts that I often confuse with large dog poops. And the smell of these things...yuck.

First organizational meeting of the TV Cannabis Club ....with special guests....Cheech and Chong...will be the first Tuesday after election day. Due to lack of accommodating event space on campus...this one will be held in the snack aisle of the 7/11!

Last Friday I played 18 with a guy who had a small little cigar every hole....every hole.

I was not on the same reservation, so I was the third cart in the group.

Decided to catch matinee of Jaws today at Old Mill Playhouse - just got out - counted about 30 patrons, which is pretty good for a nearly 50 year old movie - wish they would screen more older, classic movies

I continue to be peeved that so many things in The Villages have been done away with because of Covid, and they haven't been brought back now that the actions have been proven to be an over reaction. HOW CAN I SIGN THE PETITION??? And how about the terrific daily breakfast buffets at several C.C. restaurants?
