We just moved into a new construction Begonia. The new washer and dryer was delivered yesterday. We did not choose a large capacity washer/dryer but we are surprised about the fact that they take up so much space and the front of the dryer is even with the door frame of the door leading to the garage which is too tight in our opinion. Do any of you who have a Begonia know what brand/size of washer and dryer fit better in this space? We do not need large capacity W/D because there are only 2 of us and we chose top loading because they supposedly take up less room.

We have a gardenia, the larger version of the begonia, and our washer/dryer area is tight as well. We have a large front loader and dryer on pedestals. Makes for a tight entry way. I may be wrong, but unless you go to a real small (apartment size) washer/dryer, the average size washer and dryer are the same dimensions. I think standard sizes. That's one area I wish there was more space. I think it is what we have to live with in these two. models.

We bought a Grandview, but still working on empting house to Realtor's specs. We plan on bringing existing W/D. Thought spaces were all standard, never measured. Hope they fit. Maybe we better check. Hate to have to buy new ones.

We had the same problem in our Ivy.
The washer and dryer were standing about a foot from the wall.
(sticking out).
We chose the top loading large capacity machines.

The installer told us he wasn't "allowed" to cut or touch the dryer
duct and that's why they were so far from the wall.
My DH did it himself and now they are just fine.

That could be the problem.

These Whirlpool High Efficiency Top loader machines are very nice. They have steam and all the bells and whistles of the front loaders.

We had front loaders on pedestals up north (Gas) and they were nice. But the cabinets had to be hung to high for my 5'4" little lady.

She loves these new machines and can each the 1st 2 shelves in the overhead cabinets. ;-)

We appear to be having the same problem with our Ivy. Just had the new washer/dryer delivered last week and they are so far away from the wall because of the duct work and all the other tubing! Hoping when my husband gets down he'll be able t figure out how to get them closer to the wall! Ugghhh.

Or you could move the laundry into the garage and use that area as a pantry. We did that during the building process. No noise and dust or flooding danger in the house.
