I’ve never been dumpster diving but guilty of taking advantage of a curb alert or two

Yep me too. My neighbor was walking his dog and found 3 nice putters someone was throwing away.
Also they used to post on CraigsList where people were putting useable stuff to the curb.

Default Recycle, reuse, or free sell

First I'd like to say that toilets and bathroom sinks are one of the best things selling. There's a junkyard on Main Street going towards Leesburg that is famous for those items and windows. Secondly it is great if someone can take your you're trash and make a few dollars selling it. Third we are a society of excess. People throw out perfectly good TVs VCRs and computers because they are two years old. And yes you should shred everything because it's too darn easy cuz it is too darn easy 2 take a few pieces of paper and steal your identity these days

clearly not residents.

I hadn't realized locals were doing this? Is this typical? Not that I really give a damn (not like they strewn the stuff about) but its not something I ever saw in the previous places I've lived
I set my alarm and put my trash out the day of, not comfortable with people going through my trash. Identity theft is real.

When I was a kid they use to come down the ally's in their horse drawn carts picking junk up, they were called Shines back in the day.

Its called dumpster diving and is very common. Some people find great things that others throw away and make big money on it. They also specificly look for small pieces of furniture to refinish and sell. Also, you have the cheapskates who salvage everything. Its no big deal and done all the time

its a little creepy however. i mean it's still my stuff on my driveway. I guess I will now have to shred all documents first.

Make sure you are shredding anything important or anything that gives personal information. This is a good way for identity thieves to get information.

Several years ago when I lived in Duval, I put my garbage out one evening and went for a walk. When I returned, my entire bag of garbage was gone. I later discovered a Golf Cart driving around, picking up people’s trash. The back of the Golf Cart was loaded with full bags of trash. I even got a picture! I guess he/she was looking for aluminum cans. After that, I never put my garbage out at night. Though legal to take people’s garbage, I did not like the idea of someone going through my trash. Lamps and large items, fine… but not bags of trash!

It is called reality . People do what they have to do to survive. Many of us are disconnected from reality. Good to be humbled even in T.V.
One persons trash is another persons treasure .
