And, that's why I don't play pickelball. Way too many injuries

It's also why I shouldn't play PB. However, the "fun quotient" keeps drawing me back.

I used a sock similar to these until my foot felt better. Mine came in two pack. Wear one while other washed.

Wishing you a rapid recovery.

Sand/Beach Tennis is an fun alternative to Pickleball that's a little safer.

I just hope it's feeling better before i go back to the office in 2 weeks... Having your podiatrist limping around the office doesn't exactly instill an air of confidence to your patients...

I popped a handful of Motrin, and I've spent the afternoon with and ice bag on my heel and the foot elevated. No sign or bruising or swelling (which is good), but it hurts like a sumbich when I first get up to walk...

I had to cancel our golf game this afternoon...

I could have sworn someone said that Pickelball was better than golf...

Hopefully, I'll be able to play golf when my daughter and son in law arrive tomorrow evening. We have a tee-time at Evans Prairie on Wednesday...

Well, at least I'll be able to take the cart...

I suggest you try touchtennis. You can play it on a pickleball court. The problem with pb is the ball bounces too low and the paddles are too short, requiring players to bend over and that causes injuries.

Bad knees? Why give up things you like to do because you have bad knees? Replace the knees or get injections so you can do what you want.

I just love these threads where people don't scroll and read before posting their responses! OP says he's a podiatrist so probably knows what needs to be done. Hoping he feels better soon and listens to what he'd tell his patients.

I seem to be immune from gout. Many a crab feast with no ill effects...

But, I have the needle and cortisone... Just in case...

Pickleball is the #1 injury-producing activity in The Villages. Sorry you had to add to the statistics. On the bright side, be glad it's not a torn knee ligament or a hip! Recover soon...

Thanks for the advice. I honestly appreciate it. But I'm a Podiatrist. I have this covered...
