Pitch and Putt reservations(?). I agree with the thread title, I have reservations about wasting my time playing one of those glorified mini golf courses. Especially when I learned you have to hit off a mat!

There is a Pitch & Put at the new First Responders Rec Ctr.

Not a golfer and love the putt&play as similar to mini golf, but on grass. You would not want me on a golf tee, no sir.

Default Putt & Play, Pitch & Putt

There are Putt & Play courses (2-9 hole courses) one in Fenney, the other the new courses at Sawgrass. Then there is the Pitch & Putt (Marshview). The Putt & Play are first come, first serve; Marshview Pitch & Putt is reservation only.

I think the P&P are listed under the executive courses. To reserve you need to look up the course name. Ex. Marshview. Don't know the names of the others.

Just to make sure I have this correct, these are walking courses only no golf cars allowed.

Thanks in advance for the help.
MarshView Pitch and Putt is an 18 exec course.
Reservations can be made via phone system...villages.net if subscribed to for $8 monthly or doing "summer" season by calling starter at 352 751 7788...this course 092 ...great course to work on short game.

Can you rent a golf club?

I don’t think they rent clubs. Call the starter shack and ask.

You're kidding right, what the heck is a ressie.

In my opinion, Marshview is a great little course. It is a beautiful course with all of the Live Oak trees, lots of wildlife, and great views of Hogeye Sink. They put the pins in some very tricky positions, like right behind the mound on #4 or at the very front of the green on #17.

I agree the mats are in very bad condition and should definitely be replaced.

Please don’t encourage him.

A very nice 18 hole putt and play course at the First Responders Rec Ctr. There's parking there too!
Unfortunately it's about a two hour ride if you live below 44, well almost.

At least the putt and play courses give you practice that's actually useful when you play a real golf course. But I see no real use hitting a ball 50 yards off a rubber tee. Also, anyone, even my great grand mama can swing a putter. Hitting a pitching wedge however is not easy for a complete neophyte. But you can take anyone, no matter what their age or skill level, to a putt and play..
