Never crowded (in fact, just the opposite), large, clean, and very well stocked.
Lots of locations, but only 2 grocery stores. That is why grocery prices there are INSANE. I can't even go in Publix - it is like 7 bucks for a pound of bacon. yikes. We used to have the same problem in SE Wisconsin when it was just Roundy's (Pick N Save), Piggly Wiggly, and Sentry. Then Sentry went down. Prices just kept going up until We got Super Walmart, Super Target, Woodmans (giant employee owned stores) and Meijer's in here. Now my food bill is less than 2/3 of what it was(and it used to be way less than the Villages prices). Competition is always a good thing.

There are more than two grocery chains - Publix, Winn-Dixie and Walmart are obviously the majors. Add Aldi, Fresh Market and Save-A-Lot, but they don't set pricing in this area.

Had a Walmart Neighborhood market open where I used to live in Melbourne, FL. and boy did that cause the Publix across the street to drop dramatically. Can't wait.

Yes, it probably will. Personally I think Walmart is cheaper than Publix, for the things I buy. For one I like LIFE CEREAL for breakfast. Publix charges $4.79 a box & Walmart charges $3.00 a box. I can buy 2 boxes of Life Cereal for $.21 more. Overall I like Walmart!

Walmart haters? You mean people hate lower prices? Our biggest problem with Walmart is 1. I can't find my wife the store is so big (solved by smaller store, I hope, but no guarantees ) 2. Can't find my car when I find my wife > got a feeling this problem won't go away but it will be better than not finding a parking space a Publix and you can bet competition is good for prices.

Check that calculation. I get the point. It's all $$ About The Benjamin's $$.
