My thing is, that if there's a closed sign or a do not enter sign, etc. I would be afraid to go. What if they're treating the lawn with a chemical or something. Signs are put up for a reason.

Did the management take all of the flags out? That will deter most people

It's interesting. I didn't take a count, but it looks like half are for following the rules and half aren't. What a facemask had to do with this is beyond me.

I respect golf courses, even though I am not a consistent player. I was more annoyed at the people driving on the fairway, since it had just poured all afternoon. I used to work part-time, at a country club golf course as a starter-ranger. We could golf for free, plus they paid us. Most of the time we golfed after hours, because employees were allowed, and that was generally the only time available, since we started people off on the first and the ninth at the same time. One evening I saw a group of young "college students" on the 18th (most likely grand kids of some of the homeowners. They were drinking and riding their carts in circles, so I started to drive toward them, and they high tailed it out of their fast, so I went back to my 4 some and we continued playing. When we got to the 18th green, we discovered they had put a beer can in the hole and then put the flag through the top of the can.

I never played with Jack, but I have played with god. He cheats though. One time he had a squirrel pick up his ball and drop it in the hole. On another occasion, an eagle swooped down, picked up his ball and dropped it right next to the flag.

That's when Moses complained to God, "Are just gonna' screw around or are you gonna' play golf?

Is this incorrect then?

Haven’t golfed with God or Jack. But once I jumped ship in Hong Kong and I make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I’m a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald… striking. So, I’m on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one – big hitter, the Lama – long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga… gunga, gunga-lagunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he’s gonna stiff me. And I say, “Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.” And he says, “Oh, uh, there won’t be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.” So I got that goin’ for me, which is nice.

So, you work for village police department? You can pick any course and they will be there after hours, including championship courses hitting many approach shots on greens.

Then, a 3some pulled up to play, without stopping at the starter's shack. I politely told them the course was closed, but they ignored me, and went to the first hole and teed off.

What really annoyed me though were the people who drove on the fairway, after all the rain we just had. The old, Starter/Ranger in me wanted to drive up to them, and read them the riot act.
There are 3 kinds of people in the world. Those who always try and follow the rules. Those that rarely follow the rules believing that they can make better rules. Those who only follow the rules when somebody's watching. We need more of the first kind and less of the last two!
