BURIED. Page 5 of the local section is kind of funny. I don't know about the rest of you, but I think this is a big story! A working meth lab in a retirement community! But the DS makes it a ho hum story....
Now, the big question, How many of these folk's cutomers are our neighbors?????

The sellers do that via a signed disclosure agreement which is handled via the realtor. If the realtor fails to make interested parties aware of that info, they'll be liable in some way, shape, or form on down the road if an issue crops up.

Like the issue regarding the smashing of car windows in Lake Sumter parking lot, isn't this what we all wanted to get away from? Can you blame us for being disappointed? Yes it's beautiful, but didn't we want more than that? Our safety is number one. A Meth lab? Really!

Just for clarity's sake, the AAA map isn't the same as "the $5 map" from the sales offices, etc., right?

A once-in-decades scenario like this points to some of the many positives here in TV.

One is the fact that neighbors here actually know each other and have organized socials with neighbors on their street, on a weekly or monthly basis. This meth lab would have gone on a lot longer if not for watchful, caring neighbors who look out for each other here. For those who think this one meth lab characterizes the whole population 95,000 community as "not what we were looking for", I'd say, "How many people here knew all the neighbors on their street and on the surrounding streets in their past homes in other places, as most of us here in TV do? How many people here had monthly block parties in neighbors' driveways or sunshine committees who bring flowers and food because of a neighbor's death or hospitalization, in past homes/neighborhoods?.....Especially in a city as big as 95,000 as TV has?"

As for the sad state of affairs at the home containing the meth lab and those two bums......On this very website, there have been ads/announcements of people living alone here, who need in-home help and companionship. Maybe...just maybe....this homeowner was a person in need and had advertised for in-home help. Or maybe the homeowner was running low on money and advertised for somebody to rent a room from him/her in exchange for some help around the house and some rent money. It's possible that this couple or one of them came by and responded to an ad like that, and that that day, they cleaned up and presented themselves as decent people. Or maybe it was a single grandparent who did not see what a bum their grandson/daughter had become when they said they needed a place to stay for awhile.

Knowing how many ramshackle houses become a meth lab in a small town of let's say, population 1000, (and they number in 5's and 10's), I'd say one in 95,000 is a mighty small proportion here.

It wouldn't have made them as much money, but it wasn't illegal and it wouldn't end up killing them. Just look at the girl's eyes. She looks VERY ill to me. So wrong and so sad.

I really do not know what the $5 map looks like. The AAA map of The Villages is big (about 3 feet square when unfolded) and is very complete.

I'm sure not going to pee in Lake Sumpter! Too many gators.

Seriously one point that may help just a bit. I looked up this street on Google Maps, and it really is right at the end of the world. Depending on the address, it could very well back on a big cow pasture on the west edge of TV. I don't know that would make me sleep much better, but it's something.
