Early voting causes no issues and prevents long, discouraging lines. Several have posted about how smoothly early voting went - they wouldn't be posting that if 5,000 people descended on each polling place on the same day.

Who you voted for is private; the door of the polling place and any lines you stand in are not private.

It's really, really easy: If you don't want to answer a poll, simply don't reply.

I understand that it gives more people the opportunity to vote but I think that a better solution would be to hold election over one weekend. Twelve hours on Saturday and twelve hours on Sunday. If you can't fit that into your schedule, you just don't care enough.

There would have to be mail in ballots for people that are out of the country or away from their homes but those should have to be applied for and should be a minimal amount.
I think they should make Election Day a holiday. That way everyone will be able to vote….no excuses. No more mail in votes…no more early voting. Open the polls at 6:00 am and close at 9:00pm. If they have to open more polling places to accommodate everyone, then so be it.

First time voting in Florida. Are the lines long on Election Day? Had planned on voting on Election Day but if lines are long, I may vote early.

Please advise.

.....an early vote is a vote.
..........."election day" vote is a vote.

over two weeks of voting opportunity and some are still trying to find ways/time to vote!?

What or why is it so complicated (by some)?

I do wonder if they do not live in the United States why would they vote in the United States?

It is rather a huge system. It has to be. Imagine if the system had to approve or disapprove each vote. We voted early. It took, or should take far longer to study the issues, and who you choose to vote for compared to the time to get to the poll show your IDENTIFICATION, prove you are a citizen, you are who you are, you are ALIVE etc
I know a couple who has lived out of the country for 28 years in the EU and works as contractors for military, and they say quote "they would rather stay there when then retire, than come back" and they sadly get to vote. When other than receiving government funds they do not participate in American life. I find it very sad and un American.

Not having early voting could of knocked me out of voting altogether this year. I need to have surgery and they were trying to get me in next week. He does surgery on Tuesdays and Fridays and I wouldn't have had a choice of day. If they scheduled it on Tuesday, I would not have been able to vote. Knowing this, I was able to go in early this week and cast my vote. Turns out it was a none issue, but I would have been very disappointed if my vote wasn't counted. I appreciate the early voting and honestly rather do that then mail it in. At least I know they received it.

We have found early voting to be easy and convenient.

Unfortunately when you register to vote in Florida all your personal information becomes public knowledge.
This is exactly how radical groups or agencies can target you. So contrary to popular belief voting is not as private as you may believe.

Sorry but if you make it a holiday, who will work. If someone is disabled and needs assistance, do they get the day off? You will always have exceptions and voting early helps to disperse the lines. Believe it or not some people still work, and having this flexibility really helps.

I understand the need or desire to vote by mail, but I always like the analogy of how much do you trust the USPS? Would you put a $100 bill in the mail and mail it to yourself?
