Default The Polo Grounds

Just wondered how all the expenses of the polo grounds & polo games are paid for. Amenities? Seems like it is something the owners want more than the residents. If they want a horsie community why not stables and riding trails for the residents.

I never play tennis but I wouldn't question whether we need them or not. Different strokes for different folks, just my .02

You missed the point. Lots of residents play tennis or pickleball, but how many play polo? If it's a rec center tennis court we all pay, if it's a country club the priority members pay, if it's the clay courts at Glenview the tennis players pay. My question is that Polo is a rich man's sport and I'm just wondering if I'm paying so that the rich folks can play on my bucks. If they all pay their own way more power to them. I know that, at least I think I know that, they (the horses) are pastured on the Morse property unless there are matches. Then they are on the land next to the polo grounds. If you like to watch the polo matches that's fine. I just think it should be as self supporting as possible. It would be nice to know how they cover the expenses. To each his own....

The polo grounds have multiple uses. Events are held there throughout the year. Went to an outdoor concert there once and the annual golfarama is held there. I would think our amenities fee covers the upkeep. I agree though, this facility may be put to better use or be gone with it and save expense of up keep.
