I’m confused. If it’s a swimming pool, what am I supposed to do but swim? If you want to stand around in a swimming pool, do it in a corner so some of us can swim.

There would be more room to swim, stand, or bob if the villages came out of very hour to really check ids. Really check means at least one person from each group in pool must get out and show the individual ids for everyone in their group and “sleepers” are waken to show id.

This conversation is like people complaining about HOA rules after they made their purchase decision with clearly-communicated policies already in place. Posting here for people to discuss the way things ought to be is a waste of time and effort. Swimming laps in adult or family pools is not the purpose of the pool. Can you? Sure. I swim gentle laps in my adult pool, but as soon as someone else enters, I revert to bobbing (not peeing as another poster assumed) and walking. The intent is important here. If I want to swim laps as exercise, I go to a sports pool. I don’t see where there are no pools with lap swim in the middle of the day. They have posted schedules. If you don’t want to live by the rules of community pools, you purchased in the wrong place.

I’ve bought new about 5 years ago and had never gone to any pool until about a month ago. I went right when it opened and there were already people there and they were quick to tell me the 3 and 4 feet section was where they walk so I’d need to use the deeper end. Lol

My neighborhood pool is 100 yards away.
Nearest lap pool is too far to walk or even ride my bike. Why should I have to drive, and check schedules at the lap pool just to do 15 minutes of exercise??? I think bobbers that do little more than soak and talk about how great it was back home - are selfish. They walk in front of me swimming laps intentionally. Yes, intentionally. If I'm on the same path 3 or 7 times, I'm probably coming that way again. Come on. Don't be so selfish. |

Do what you want in the adult pool as long as you follow the posted rules. The h*ll with all these unwritten rules. It's a "swimming pool".
We all own the pools. If you want to bob, do it. My wife chooses to swim slow laps and just works around people. Although we ususally go after 3pm when it's less busy. Regardless of who's there, I jump in the deep end as soon as I get there, and yes I make a splash. But who cares, again it's a pool. Have a little fun!

I believe we are all adults. Lappers and lily pads should be able to commingle. However, here's a situation where I disagree: I visited a family pool recently with my three grandchildren -- ages 7 and two 5-year old twins. They were having a blast - playing as kids play. A lady was floating near the steps listening to her music blasting from a nearby table. When we drifted closer to her, she demanded that I tell my grandchildren to be quiet because she couldn't hear her music and she trying to relax. Now, in this case, a family pool is designated for all members of families - including grandkids, right? She was totally out of place. I ignored her.

As some of you have discerned by my post history, I tend to be a bit of an antagonist. If some self-appointed (I won't use the "K" term here) clipboard monitor tries to impose their demands upon my freedoms, I will ramp up quickly in the opposite direction. You tell me to turn my music down, it's going WAY up. It's one thing to ask politely. I will probably easily comply. However, if you tell me I'm in "your" spot, I will take up that spot as long and as many times as I can.
If you ask politely, maybe with an explanation of why that spot is your preference, I will usually move at once, and pack up all my gear quickly to accommodate you. I'm generally fairly easy going. What I cannot stand is people who try to take advantage of others. Then it's Game-On. If you have an issue with that, write me a ticket. Oh wait, you can't. Pound sand.

Maybe stomping one's foot and shaking a fist would help with that statement.
![]() I think all of these statements are missing the actual problem, density. No one was considering the density and number of facilities when purchasing here. Think how bad it would be if there were no private pools at individual homes and everyone went swimming. It's just one of those cases where we all have to figure out how to get along because lack of insight when purchasing here has brought the chickens home to roost. |

No no. Pee bobs is the act they are performing. The term for the people performing the pee bobs are pee bobblers.
Do try to get it straight. |
