Regarding the previous discussions:

Truman (like the others) had its table recovered only to find a gash in the middle of the table with in weeks. (keep in mind the VARIETY of users at the rec centers- compared to controlled environment such as your house etc.

The do vary in playability Canal street rec center has different play than others.

All in all there is ample variety and billiards availability to be utilized .

I've played seldom since prep school and only 3 times since I moved to TV. Since I'm not Fats Domino, or whoever that was, and neither are those who play billiards here, should we really be this fussy? If so, I would expect those special folks to pay for whatever they need. If you disagree please explain why TV shouldn't purchase a nice M-B S550 for me.

True. But I understand folks who expect to be provided more than the usual when others are paying for it.

Fats Domino was an expert domino player. Are there any good domino tables in The Villages?

Tom - that's a good question. I don't know but I'm sure we have the right to demand one to our liking. Also I'm thinking that I want all pools filled with Poland Spring water. Would you agree?

That depends. Is that your table theory? This comes up periodically. Or your domino theory?

What he saying is pick the worse golf course and this be the standard for all gold courses. If you don't play pool at high level or play at all you really shouldn't be commenting or making your opinion on nothing you have clue about.

I find the tables well balanced, good cloth and Tight pockets. Even tighter on the snooker tables. For the novice, average, above average pool player (compared to 2 or 3 handicap golfer) these tables are challenging. Kinda like playing golf course with narrow fairways, lots of bunkers, and slopping green and you wonder why you can't score below 90? Now do you know what he trying to say.

You missed my point. I understand perfectly what he was saying. And the extension of it is that TV needs to supply better tables. Better tables cost more money. I'm opposed to spending more money when the tables are adequate for the average user. I'm an average golfer, there are many that are better, but I have never heard anyone say that all the courses need to be as good as TPC courses. Now do you know what I'm saying?

Better tables do not cost more money ,it has been documented that better equipment will cost less..villages pay top dollar for these poorly made tables..
All this has been expose to the rec. dept.all they care about is the Decor of the rooms...
Lighting is terrible in most of the rooms..

If you think that the free equipment isn't up to par, buy one you like for your house.

Why should the majority pay for the needs of the minority.

We don't have pencil sharpener's in any of the art rooms. It would never occur to me to complain or lobby for change.
