When we purchased our house, the birdcage had a melted spot that perfectly matched up with the grill left behind by the previous owner.

This is a pizza oven....not a BBQ grill. There is a big difference.

but notice how the oven is placed on what looks like a metal table, & appears to be outside by looking @ the white fence, & this warning from said site: This oven is for outdoor use only. Using a Koda 12 indoors is not safe. |

I can't help you on cooking your pizza in your Lanai, but I will say this.
We been using our gas Weber grill this summer to cook frozen or unfrozen pizza. It helps to keep the heat out of the house on hot days and cooking the pizza on low heat really works for us. Cheers! |

I researched pizza ovens for over a year. I chose the HALO Versa 16. This is a 16" pizza oven that makes 16" pizzas in under 2 minutes. It has a rotating stone and can be used most anywhere outside. I use mine in my Lanai all the time. I picked this oven because it does the larger 16"pizzas and the rotating stone makes pizza making much easier. It works with 1 lb propane and 20 lb bigger tanks. The motor that turns the stone works with batteries or plug in, so it is portable and great for tailgating, RV'ing or camping.
To answer the original posters question, the oven gets up to 1000 degrees......but that is inside. I can hold my arm above it with no issues and touch the top of it...it is warm but not burning. You heat up the oven for like 10 minutes, and the pizza is done in 2-3 minutes. It does not stay on all day. The original poster does not say how high his lanai is, if he has vinyl siding or stucco, (you should never cook anything within a foot or two close to vinyl siding...) A pizza oven IS different from a grill. For the record, my Lanai is over 11 foot high, very big, (like a Premier home), and I grill out there. I also have a nice griddle and smoker out there and my pizza oven. It is awesome. Never any issues..... Anyone interested in this pizza oven, go to Quality Outdoor Cooking Equipment | Halo Products Group. I will try to post a picture of my pizza oven....sorry....cannot seem to post a simple picture here. Bummer

Why take a chance? If you insist, put a digital CO meter out there. It could save your life.
If there ever is any smoke created from cooking, burnt food or oil, that smell could linger for a long time. Using the grill often would build that smell. You may not notice it, but outsiders will. If you ever want to sell the house, getting that smell out is extremely difficult. |
