Default Fenney Property

Does anyone know if The Villages bought the property below The Village of Fenney around the Federal Prison? From Google Earth it looks like the prison will be in the center of The Villages if they continue to go south.

I think that prison will be in Fennys backyard. Wonder if buyers know that?

FYI....Whitey Bulger the convicted Mob Boss from Boston is housed @Coleman, along with some other rather nasty individuals.

They are putting in a cattle farm down there somewhere, I think between the prison and the homes. There is nothing buyers have to fear about the prison, the greatest fear in TV would be sink holes. It is very, very, rare that someone would escape from a Federal Prison and if they did do you think they would hang around here. Might hear some cattle but doubtful you'll ever seen a prisoner wandering around. We live in Fenney and don't give the prison a second thought, it's sort of like a tourist attraction down there if you have never seen one. They should add that to the Trolley Tour.

on paper......it looks to be that the prison will be in the center of the villages area down there.

they purchased all the way down 501 to the right of fenny and then south across the street from 470....allot of that land as well.

So I would say yes.... but.....,where we have a home in Broward County Florida...Weston.....we had a federal womens prison that housed the worse of the worse....same as Coleman up here, that was actually moved when the expensive subdivisions came close and wanted more space and the city and county thought they could get more revenue from homes. so you just never know...

I love your attitude......making lemonaid out of lemons with the prison tourist attraction.......but
Escape wouldn't be my issue.....its the lights and alarms going on all threw the day, that one of the fenny residents complained about that might be a deterrent, to some anyway.

Sometimes people say negative things about new areas because of their own agenda. For instance, time after time people will diss new areas and bring up smells and prisons and waiting a long time for business nearby and sometimes I think it is because they work for a competitor or may be a realtor who cannot sell new homes IN FENNEY. Or maybe they live off campus and are just plain jealous of Villagers.

I so dislike negativity...just generally dislike it but I really get mad when someone uses it to help their views or plan.

Real people have chosen to live in those new areas and they love their homes and their choice.

When we bought in our home here, someone said "Why in the world would you buy so close to that traffic noise on 466?" That made us feel like fools, until we saw how much our homes have escalated in value. The homes at Fenney seem to be priced quite nicely. When those folks decide to move to their second home, like many do here, they will make a lot of money.

Hide and watch.

Or WAIT FOR THEM TO Live there for years and never have a prison break or a disaster. Or hear sirens or bells...............WAIT AND SEE.

Who says they wouldn't head for the easy pray across the pasture? After all they had years of pumping iron to over power guards and any old retirees close by.

Prey. For patience.

I think as I get older, I may begin to bite.

I haven't seen a light or heard a siren since we move in down here.

We just like to refer to it as "the other gated community".

Just wondering; any of you who purchased in Fenney......did your sale's rep let you know there was a prison near by? If not; were you already aware there was a prison near by; if not did you find out there was a prison near by after you closed on your home?

You do realize Coleman federal Prison will be VCDD 13, however I don't think there will be golf cart access!

Those damn sales reps who aren't real realtors didn't tell US that there were so many negative, trouble starting old people who lived here either.

I want my money back.
