Question Prefabricated Concrete Buildings Being Constructed In Chitty Chatty

I saw what looked to be new homes / offices? being constructed in the North of Chitty Chatty. You can see them as you come over the bridge.
They are made of preformed, concrete slabs hoisted into place by that large crane and assembled onto an already poured slab.
Am just curious if this is an experiment for cost savings (for the builder of course) or if these are going to be the new standard for building in The Villages.
Thoughts?
PS: I've not looked through all of GoldWingNut's videos yet.

Concrete plank bearing on CMU (concrete masonry units, aka block) is a proven industry standard and is preferred by many over wood framing. Needless to say, the fire resistance is considerably better.

If it meets or exceeds the same standards and it saves money I am 100% on board with that.

A lot less labor intensive to build and probably better than CBS home and infinitely better than stick built.

Talked to some friends up north and they are surprised we are behind in using that technology. In their area, homes, multi level office buildings and warehouses have been using it for years. From what they said, it's a faster construct, insurance friendly and labor friendly.

Our daughter lived in Cincinnati, in a site built Poured wall construction home in 1995. Only difference is no longer done on site.
My daughters best friend’s family business was site built poured walls. Moved to offsite years ago. Didn’t have to wait for walls to cure, like site build. Her home still looks like the day it was poured.

Homes always looked so finished, with outside texture on some homes. Detailed trim, Mix could be tinted if you wanted.

The developers are a little behind in modern technology, and wouldn’t build without proper approval.

Villages spent millions building a plant just for this purpose, so I would assume it will become the new standard.

They have built a lot of poured wall homes south of 44, don't know if they poured any north of 44 or not as I wasn't around when they were building up there. Fenny has quite a few of them.

As long as it's safe. Perhaps, encouraged by the lumber prices...

Very interesting, if anyone has a link to the source of the above quote, please post it on this site, this will be a game changer I suspect going forward, wow
