If I ever tried to intentionally shoot as far as it could go, it'd probably be well over 80 yards somewhere into the parking lot behind the range. But I'd get kicked out of the club if I did that, and permanently forbidden to ever shoot at the range again. So I won't do that

When I aim, and hit the target? 40 yards, because that's where the target is.

Even quieter than a bow & arrow and very cheap to operate. Pellets and CO2 cartridges are all that it takes and you can shoot it in your backyard. Here's a Crossman 1377 I had custom built by factory on their website about 2013.

It was Limited Edition, so I don't believe you can order one anymore, but I've seen 1377s on the internet. If you check their website they might have something else you can custom build. You chose the stock design, which I picked camo, there was black and brown. The length of the barrel was 3 lengths, I chose the longest for accuracy. The color of the barrel tip and trigger, there was gold, silver and black The Caliber either .177 or .22 caliber, I chose .177 because the pellet ranges in TV do allow .22 pellet guns. I added the sling and UTG scope after market, it's a fixed range scope not a zoom like on my S&W MP 15/22 rifle. The rifle was fairly cheap, about $125, and it's pretty accurate at 25 yards.

Even more fun than a peashooter was a carpet gun. Bit of a misnomer as we used linoleum pieces.

I have stopped shooting due to the shortage. I’ve shot off my discretionary rounds and am down to my reserve supply that I won’t use until the shortage ends and I can load up again.

Ammunition that has been stored in a normal environment has no real shelf life.

I have some .308 that was manufactured in the early 70s that fires without issue.

I have some 7.62x25 tokarev that was manufactured in the 50s that fires without issue.

I have some .22lr from the 80s that I'm still shooting.

Moisture is the enemy. As long as it's not been in a wet basement for 20 years, it's fine.

A close friend of mine has been buying and selling rifles and shotguns for 50 years. He attends gun shows up and down the east coast. The prices have gone through the roof in the past year, as the lines to get into the shows are filled with people that have never owned guns aching to get one for "protection". The gun shows used to be filled with ammo, now not so much. With demand like that, no surprise that there is a shortage of ammunition.
