We never heard of The Villages but saw the cart bridge on 441 as we drove from a terrific motel in Ocala to look at houses around Wekiva Springs.
The second day of looking, we turned into TV and followed the gate guard's instruction to "Drive to 466, then about 2 miles more" to the Sales Office. The rest was a matter of looking for just the right house, a Designer model, and getting the price right. Back here in Illinois it seems almost all of our friends knew about TV and many had acquaintances living in TV. But we had never heard of it before that chance visit. We still think of the smiling golf cart drivers as something out of "The Stepford Wives". |

We looked at Sun City Center down around Tampa and it couldn't compare to the TV We have vacationed many times at Hilton Head and looked a little at the Sun City there but TV just seemed like the right fit for us. We like a variety of activities and friendly people and that is what drew us to TV

We looked at Oak Run in Ocala. Reviewed other places in the Ocala area.
Nothing measured up to TV as for what we was looking for. Now I just need to finish up 18 more months of work with as many trips to TV as possible. |

To name a few.....Fords Colonly in Williamsburg and NC, St James Plantation NC, Tidewater in N Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head Both local plantations and Sun City, A relativey new 55+development in WIlliamburg....and then The VIllages...no comparison to all of the above and we realy never even considered Florida as high on our list.

Pool Tables
Other than The Villages, which retirement communities in Florida have the most pool tables? Answer the question correctly and win a free trip to Spanish Springs.

Originally planned to retire to So Cal, Newport Beach or San Diego area, but realized they were too expensive on fixed incomes. A year before retiring, purchased a home in Palm Spring, CA thinking that I would like it there. Lived for one week and thought I'd lose my mind with nothing to do all day. Took a week vacation in Feb. 07 to TV and my mind was made up....... This is IT!!! Left the best weather in the country but the fun and activities of TV and haven't regretted it a minute in one year.

Which begs the question
Could it be “Talk Host” has seen the "handwriting on the wall" where the IRS writing foretells the demise of The Villages?
