The country club pools, country club golf courses (championship 18 holes) and country club tennis courts are for priority members. It means that although The Villages has executive courses (nine holes) and many, many community pools and tennis courts that are for use by residents and qualifying guests (the monthly HOA fee covers this) you have to pay extra for use of the country club pools and golf courses.

As I understand it Priority memberships allows a person to reserve tee time 2 weeks in advance, provide discounts on Championship courses, access to pool and tennis, allows participation in men's day activities (or ladies day etc.). I can add on the better half for pool only too. I DON'T KNOW IF IT ALSO INCLUDES ANNUAL TRAIL FEE AND ACCESS TO THE WEB RESERATION SYSTEM. That would be nice.......

Priority membership (and residents) can request tee times one week in advance. (No extra time for priority members). Also, priority membership provides discounted rates at the championship golf courses. Five to fifteen dollars per round depending on the time of year. Priority members do get "priority" over residents for tee time requests. It is a complicated procedure (best to read the "Golfing in the Villages" guide) Also priority members can play mens and ladies day on the championship courses and get a discount for GHIN membership renewal. Priority membership does include the trail fee but does not include access to the on-line tee time reservation system. The fee for that service is $8.00 per month.
I don't know much about the priority pool part of the membership - we are not pool people, I will leave answering that part of the question to the experts.

Sweetie has a priority membership and I do not because I don't need one. I play only nine holes now and he still is charging out and beating the heck out of 18.

I find that if my visting college age grandchildren are at the Odell pool which is right behind us, I can bring them over a lovely lunch on a tray, and if the neighbors want to gather at the pool in the evenings we can bring a little cooler with drinks and after a few we solve all of the problems of the world. However the problem solving and the drinks can be done on each of our lanais.....

So there is something for everyone!

Once again, thanks so much to all TOTV members for sharing your knowledge with "beginners" - and after we move to TV in June maybe I'll have enough know-how to start sharing myself!
