Someone asked what a Florida Redneck was. It is not an offensive term but is a Florida person who likes the outdoors and things like those proposed at the park "an open air stage providing for a music venue seating approximately 7500 patrons, ATV and 4x4 riding trails and mud holes, 4x4 mud/sand track area, 4x4 rock climb area, picnic/camping areas, adventure run mud/water course, tractor/truck pull area, and grass parking area."

You would not see that in New York City for the public to have their fun doing those things.

This would not infringe on The Villages one bit.

to some here a "FL redneck" is obviously anyone who does not live in TV.

There is such a familiar echo in threads where some do not go along with a given premise or thought or belief.

Hmmmnnnn now what IS IT that behavior reminds me of....about?

If a redneck is a person with genuine kindness in his/her soul, unafraid to get dirty when they work and enjoys country music and home cookin' and hasn't completed a college education, but is working toward security for himself and his family by not spending every dime he/she makes and likes beer more than wine and hasn't been to charm school.

Then he sounds like a person I would like a lot and I could be one myself. I try hard.

I am so blessed to know so many people with so many different ways of living and doing things. The one thing that matters most to me is whether they have a sense of responsibilty to their family and their fellow man..or woman.

My very favorite Jeff Foxworthy line of all times is:

"If you mother doesn't take the unflitered Camel out of the corner of her mouth when she tells the Highway Patrolman to 'Kiss her ass', you might be a redneck"

That was my mother all over...but it is my strongest hope that it isn't inherited. Or at least wasn't in my case.

Although I have been personally guilty of this one:

"If your current TV is sitting on top of your old TV that no longer works, you might be a redneck"

Hey, the old one had a really nice wood cabinet and I didn't know what to do with it. (I eventually pulled the guts out and threw them away and put the new TV in the cabinet.) hmm, maybe too late for me afterall.

Let me get this straight....concert venue(very popular here), mudding(very popular here), airboat racing(very popular here), 4x4 racing(very popular here), but it's not going to be successful. Sorry, but there are tons of people outside The Villages, and I would venture to guess a few in The Villages (me being one) who would love this type of venue. Believe it or not, but some people like other things besides golf, bocce ball, driving golf carts and other activities inside the bubble. I have friends, colleagues, students and their families that do all of these things EVERY weekend. Now, to have a common area where they can compete and socialize with others, sounds awesome.

Dirt bikes, tractor pulls, demolition derby.....the more diverse activities in the area the better. Love tractor pulls!

I read back and didn't see anyone bitching about Wildwood. Many of us have never been to a park like this. IN FACT I didn't see ONE negative post on here except from people who were responding to what they thought were negative posts. Read them all from the very beginning. No one is fuedin' a fightin and a fussin'. Some people are alwys madeningly positive and others are always ouchy negative.

You learn something new every day.

This kinda park is new to me. I might just be over there once a week.

You can't know until you try it.

But NO horse poop.
