Also Walmart will substitute an item with another even if it cost more or is a larger size if what you selected is not in stock. You can tell them at pickup if you want it or not. For example I order an 8 oz block of cheese and they gave me a 16 oz for the same price.

We used Aldi delivery several times. The website is great. You can note right there if you want a substitute or not. They text while they are shopping for you. Nominal delivery fee. Extra fee for wine and beer. You can choose a delivery window.

Publix has sub-contracted hone delivery to Instacart. They charge $4-5 per order delivered plus a tip. But when you place your order with them, the prices on their website are higher than in the store. InstaCart also delivers from Fresh Market, Sam’s Club and others. But with the others, they really increase the price. I checked an item at Sam’s Club and the Instacart price was 25% higher than in store or from their drive thru.

I’d highly recommend the Walmart drive-thru service. Order using their online app, set the time for your pickup, and they’ll put your groceries in the back of your car without you even opening your car window. I’ve never waited more than a couple minutes for my order to be delivered to the car. Only occasional stock-outs. I may never go in a grocery again.

Sam’s Club also has the drive-thru service, but it’s not as slick as Walmart.

Now how can I shop at Fresh Market without going in or using expensive InstaCart?

I quit using Instacart at Publix for the following reasons.
1. Total Instacart fees including a tip are about $15.
2. The prices they charge you per item are higher than in-store prices.
3. To many times, they end up substituting.

Publix state’s they raise the prices for each item and you pay a membership fee. Their prices are already too high.

I use Walmart you search on the app and create a list pick up or pick up time your done! Been doing this for six months! Last weeks order I waited 1 min, usually 2-5!

I will never use Publix prices too high if you don’t like freshness of produce you get an instant credit on your credit card!

Another vote for Walmart Pick/Up at the 466 store. You don't have to get in car or foot traffic in their parking lot since the curbside pickup is large and located on the east side of the bldg. way away from the shoppers. I hand the person bringing the order out a cash tip while maintaining my distance. Also, their website catalogue of items is so easy to use.

However, I've only ordered grocery staples and other nonfood items from them, as I don't trust fresh produce selection to someone unknown except for my spouse and he's been in training for several years. Still goofs up sometimes.

I have not tried delivery yet either. I leave my house once a week to go to Publix. I do not trust anyone else to pick out my produce. It is hard to find good fruits and veggies. Most are either picked so early they never ripen correctly or they are already past their prime.
I checked out the new Publix at Trailwinds yesterday and noticed there were no markings or signs for one way aisles. Store was very crowded and lots of empty shelves. Will probably go back to shopping at Lake Deaton, even though Colony is closest.

Yes, you have to sign up with instacart which is &10.00 a month. Just make sure if you order something special (like diet soda) tell them only DIET, we are diabetics and received 6 large regular soda.

Any orders $35 and over are shipped free at Wal-Mart and delivered to your door.
Not same day delivery but orders arrive pretty quickly.
I generally order canned goods, staples, cases of dog food, cleaning supplies, paper towels, etc.
Saves time wandering around the store, waiting in line, lugging and loading in and out of car, especially with heavy items.
I'll buy fresh produce from Winn Dixie every few weeks.
I tried Publix/Instacart but wasn't pleased with the results so haven't used them since 1st order where they got it all wrong and charged for items not delivered. They wanted to give me a store credit instead of reimbursing my credit card, directly. After some back and forth, they finally did.
Glad they work out for the rest of you.

Tried instacart once, of the 5 items I needed I got 1 and then was charged for someone else’s order. I have been in the stores and watched these “shoppers”. I don’t trust them. Put on your mask and go to the store of your choosing. You will quickly figure out all is well, cart sanitized and for the most part there is social distancing. Yes Publix removed the one way aisles but there were some “privileged” folks who did what they want, no matter for signage or public address reminders. Most of us follow the rules. Wash your hands as soon as you get home AND forget the gloves - first thing you touch you now contaminate everything else.

You have to spend $35 or more for “curbside” pick up at walmart

I have had good and bad experiences with Publix instacart. It is more expensive but was worth it during the time my husband was doing chemo and radiation. I have used Walmart pick up and had good and bad experiences. Both are good services but not always perfect. I have found both do an excellent job picking fruits and vegetables.
