Please stay on topic of the crowds at Publix.

References to national health care legislation are off topic and borderline political. Some of these statements may be edited out of otherwise meaningful posts.

Thanks for your cooperation.

All these questions about Publix and other commercial development will be answered by Mark Morse and his sisters, Jen and Tracy, when they conduct their road show next month at the Savannah Center.

I know I will be in the front row with my binder full of questions.

Am relatively new to TV and haven't attended the "State of TV" at Savannah center. Do they really take questions?

When the annual survey comes out I will be listing Trader Joe's among others I want. I believe the developer uses the surveys to solicit new businesses for us. Go Morse! Everything here is within 10 miles here, znd we still complain! Compare that to traveling 25 or more in most other areas where I lived, and I even had to use a car! I think I may be getting lazy in retirement, but loving it.

It's hard to believe now but when we moved here the Colony Publix had few customers. Maybe they are trying to recoup all their investment before they build another one.

Publix will build another store to handle the crowds south of 466A.

People who call other people old will get old.

All this if we have a little patience.

Bogie Shooter often says, Patience Grasshopper.

I want some patience and I want it RIGHT NOW!

When I moved here in 1999, 466 was a 2 lane road with cows mooing on each side. No stores, gas stations, nada.

Just wait, everything will come in time. Until then shop at the Publix on 441, near Dennys and Walgreens. Never crowded.

Just my 2 cents!!

Cisco - great idea - they should put in on thevillages.net, like they did the building of Brownwood. Would certainly be beneficial to hear from the horse's mouth rather than people's interpretations of what was said.

Usually that speech is printed in The Daily Sun.

such rants and raves about shopping and crowds - including the ever-present inclusion of snowbirds contributing to the overcrowding! sheesh! before ya know it - the yr-rounders are gonna want us snowbirds to come down with all of our own groceries!!!

I thought it was the genXers that wanted it all and wanted it now! this thread [and a few others] sure showed me I was wrong!

also makes me wonder why so many folks have bought new homes in areas which are reportedly so lacking in opportunities for shopping and services...and then grouse over why same are not available so that they hafta contend with crowds - the crowds are their neighbors for pete's sake. smh

The moral is: During high season, do not shop for groceries at Publix or any place else on the first day of the month. Rental contracts start on that day, and renters need to buy groceries. I.e., use your head and stop complaining about crowds.

DANGED STRAIGHT.

Went to the grocery on 466 today and the parking lot looked like they were giving away baskets of five dollar bills.

How's your knee, counselor?
